Does anyone have any experience with a Bursal? I have one on my foot near the heal and it is so painful it's like having a stone under my skin.
Also on my other foot I have 2 ulcers which has been on going for over a year now. The first one started on the ball of my foot then about 6 months ago one appeared between my 2nd and 3rd toe but they do seem to be connected.
I've had numerous swabs and 3 xrays. My rhuematology nurse said as my toes are so squashed together if it continiued the ony way to solve it may be to have one of my toes removed!!
Any info would be appreciated.
Anita.

I have different problems with my feet, Tiggernut, but just a word of caution over the 'toe removal' thing. I know someone who (years ago) had a finger removed for the same reason. All that happened was the remaining ones crowded together over the gap. Things might be different now but I'd want a bit more info if it were me.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Tigernut, I have different foot problem to you.
I have plantar Fascitiis & severe tendonitis. My heels (Tendons are tight) are very painful so are the balls of my feet.
I have memory foam insoles in my slippers & shoes which help. Im waiting for proper insoles for my shoes as i was refered by a podiatist a few months back.

if you toes are crowded you can buy toe foamy things from the chemist. there like padded tubigrip you can put on your toes that might help by seperating them & lessing the pain. they also do heel insert & other things to help with feet. Might be worth having a word with your chemist until your seen by someone that can help.
    Hope something there helps you.
    take care, debs

Thanks for all your replies. I do have insoles but they are quite hard. I am waiting to have some more made but while I have the ulcer they won't take the impression!! (catch 22)
Not sure if a bursa and bursal are the same, probably just me getting it wrong!!
I'll have a look for something to seperate the toes as I really don't want surgery.Problem I have us actually getting something inbetween them, my hands are quite bad and it's a real struggle!

I finally got the medics to take notice and grow the swab for five days!! At last the results came back and I was told I had an infection in my foot (like I didn't already know that) Anyway I though yay at last I'll get it treated. However, my Dr in his wisdom decided he wouldn't give me the antibiotics recommended by the hospital until I saw the practice nurse for a reveiw. Needless to say I was furious after 16 months with this problem! Anyway as the ulcer had sealed itself over yet again I though it was pointless going to the nurse to have her say "It looks fine no need for antibiotics".
I have been on holiday and whilst I was away it got redder and redder and throbbed like hell (no oozing) When I got back I went to the Dr (saw a new one) and he said " oh yes you have an infection" so I finally got the antibiotics. I'm on my last day today. Bad news is it still hurts not so bad and not so red. I have a chiropody appointment Thursday so it will be interesting to see what happens when she goes in with the knife!!

    Hi tiggernut

Just to say that my podiatrist made me a 'toe separator' out of some pink sqidgy stuff .. Bit like childrens pllay dough ... It was a bit fiddly to insert between my toes but was quite effective.

I thought about something like that but my toes are very together (for want of a better word!) I find it quite painful when she's dressed it beacause she does tend to overkill on the dressing lol!

Thanks Toni, I won't hold my breath for her to come up with an idea lol!!

    Hi Anita,

Flower have the antibiotics anyway... ulcers are evil things and can reopen if they have bacteria in them.

I had one years ago, it was caused by impact and a broken foot that wasn't rested enough.. well at all actually. I was 17 and sold as a slave at the time

It took a long time to heal up but if it helps it only ever opened again once and that was farly soon after it closed.

Also had a toe off.... depending n which one its not real big deal.... again I was still young and maybe things are easier then?

The foot without the toe is better than the foot with cus there is more room for them to swell etc.... I also had the joints removed and then fused up s that also means they have no choice by to stay straight.

Be thinking of you and hope so much you can get some help somehow cus feet really hurt. Cris x
