Facelifts.

I spent a very mildly entertaining few moments this morning reading Liz Jones' account of her recent facelift operation and all the other processes too (Mail on Sunday). In my opinion she had a stupid face to begin with, she still has a stupid face (matches her whiny self-importance to a T) (yup, you're right, I don't like her much) but then I began to wonder why women do this to themselves. OK, at the age of whatever-she-is she has regained (briefly) the face of a considerably younger woman but then you look at her hands. She has used all that money to make herself 'look' younger (I don't think she does, she looks taut and wild-eyed whereas before she was slack and wild-eyed) but the hands are worthy of a woman of her age and lifestyle (runs a farmy-type place in Somerset, apparently as well as typing away on a laptop for the Mail.)
The same applied to Anne Robinson - the face was flawless, but the neck? The hands? Marie Helvin has just spoiled her natural beauty with fillers etc. Don't these women think about the contrast between their faces and the rest of their bodies, or do they just assume that we will only see their dazzling beauty? In your dreams you silly girls.
We reach the ages we reach and our faces reflect our lives. You cannot turn back the clock - well, you can, but I reckon you look ridiculous as a result. DD

Toally agree DD.
My SIL is downsizing and the first thing on her list is a facelift.
She's stunning. Ok she's 65 but doesn't look anywhere near that.
Do not understand it myself how anyone can willingly go under the knife and what if something goes wrong. OK You can sue but you're still left with a ruined face.
I like my wrinkles, they're me.0 -
I would consider a few facial adjustments here and there, the chin and around the eyes. I wouldn't want to look plastic just not so tired would be a result for me?I lost a good few young years struggling with R.A and feel I missed out. It would be nice to get those years back.

Most people who have the money get self Obsessed and can't stop and in the end it all goes Pete Tong, see above!.0 -
i dont know whos worse, the people who what this and go to to far or the drs who happily take the money to make these disalusioned people look like freeks, so many are addicted and end up looking far worse than they would have done if they aged gracefully.0

If you want a really good laugh read Nancy Del Olio/ Dellollio/ Del Olliol's (how the hell do you spell it?) Life in the Day in today's Sunday Times. I never had her down as a gifted comedy writer but hats off the woman, she has a talent for it. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi DD
Very interesting, I wouldnt mind a couple of procedures, liposuction on my legs...and tummy....but to be honest I couldnt stand the pain.. if they come up with a safer painfree option then I might consider it.Love

Surely the pain of lipo is transient and (probably) a damn sight less than we live with on a daily basis. The trouble with lipo however is that it doesn't change one's habit, a prime example of that is Ms Katona. We live in an age of quick-fixes for the things we don't like about ourselves - apart from blasted arthritis, that is. Whether those quick fixes are worthwhile though, well, that is another thing altogether. When they can 'do' hands, well, that would be a surgical apogee. DDHave you got the despatches? Oh DD, I don't who you are, I have never met you, but, you do make me smile, often, by your lovely comments. It is often a discussion in our household with my wife and two daughters about people who have had cosmetic surgery! Going off what I have seen from some (famous) or people we have seen before, and, after they have had these precedures, I don't think they do themselves any favours. Nothing nicer than a natural matured lady (and bloke). Cosmetic surgery is perfectly feasible in case of accident/emergency/illness/diease etc., but, necessity, it is not. So, DD, please, please, keep yourself as you are...I have a picture of you in my mind that I wouldn't want you to spoil. Good Luck, John xx0

I reckon the comedienne was Joan Rivers.
Rest assured, Compositor, I will never EVER go down that route. Perfection is very, very hard to improve upon. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
