Facebook safety

I have just been on facebook,i belong to a group called buy sell swap on there,i went on there this morning and had a bit of a shock!someone had been stealing peoples profile pics of their children and going into their albums and then putting the children up for sale with very sick comments, these sale sites are across the country and are very good especially if the admin are constantly on top of it but sadly there are a few where no one particulary looks after it and the trolls move in,so anyone with pics of children as their profile remove them for safety and put your settings to FRIENDS ONLY,stop these scumbags!!!also they are setting up facebook pages with children for sale,i know one mum who has had it done to her shes devastated

Mums do need to pass information on its the only way we can protect our children, this poor mum the captions underneath her babies picture, words just fail me it was more than sick if you know what i mean,it makes you feel these great anger,i wish they would throw these pedophiles out to the mums we would mash them to a pulp!sorry if thats a bit strong for some but its how i feel after seeing what was said about the baby and other little ones :sad:0

What a dreadful thing to happen, I feel so sorry for the mums who have had pictures stolen. That is why we are so very careful on this site, so that hopefully we are slim to non pickings for these sick people.

Almost every day when I think things can't get any worse, things like this happen. I hope the FB people identify these individuals and hand them over the police - they're normally very good at stuff like that.
Shocking. I only let my friends see my profile and my friends are the people I know well. I also monitor my daughter's account regularly and her internet access as she has her own laptop now. You have to be so vigilant.

I have heard of this being done before.Should we delete our childrens pictures? I have Friends only ticked but it says my fb protection is very low. So what more can I do to protect privacy?

as far as i know when you have friends only, when strangers go on your page all they will see is your profile pic they wont be able to go on your pictures or wall, but to be honest i think i am going to delete pictures of my little girl anyway just dont feel safe anymore :sad:0

Hi Kat, I just deleted my childrens pics. What a shame. How did your friend find the pics had been pinched and used in this way? For all we know this sort of horror goes on without us ever finding out.

I think the scumbags copied the pictures, and posted them, although i live rural im kind of in between a few towns, and im a member of one towns sell swap site but some people belong to several and thats how it was first noticed, and then my friend grew worried so she checked out this site and found her babies picture on there, the police have been called but im not sure whats happening, theres quite a big group of these unnatural monsters doing this,i just cant understand how they can its inhuman?0

Thankyou Kat
I am on facebook, but I very rarely use it, and certainly wouldn't put pics of children on there, I do have friends that put lots on and it send a chill down my spine to think who is looking at them,Love
