Hi there
I need a pair of sandals / flipflops for my summer hols. I am suffering from very sore feet at the mo (rheum nurse thinks it might be plantar fasciitis - inflammation of main ligament in feet - got appt Thurs).
Anyway, I have read that Fitflops are wonderful for arthritic feet & plantar fasciitis. BUT..they are so expensive!
Does anyone have any of these? Are they worth the hefty price tag? Can you recommend a particular style as the choice is overwhelming!!
I have worked & saved hard for my holiday in the sun & I don't want my feet to bl**dy spoil it! I have got some cushioned sandals from Clarks but would like some flipflops also. PS I am only 38.....(feel 78!!) so anything 'sort of' fashionable purlease!!
I would appreciate any advice / recommendations from you.
Many thanks
SB

I have two pairs of FitFlop Roma sandals, they aren't the toe post ones, they have two straps over the whole foot.
They are the most comfortable shoes in the world!! and worth every penny. I made mine look prettier by clipping hair slides on to them.
If you search the internet for the Roma they are on sale at half price as they're last season's style, you can get them in black and metallic bronze (it's a lovely colour), and they're £30-35 depending on where you buy them from (not including postage).
I only wish they did nice looking closed foot shoes for work!

I was reading the other day that M&S are doing their own version of fitflops a lot cheaper, I think it was about £20-25, hope this is of help.

Hi,
Sorry you have painful feet, I can absolutely sympathise with you. I am also 38, I have RA and have suffered for the last 3 years with my feet. I now only wear fitflops, I have 3 pairs of "flipflops" and 2 pairs of boots. Yes, they are very expensive, but last forever, and if they are the only thing you can walk in are worth every penny.
It hasn't been easy convincing my husband of their worth, but when on a recent holiday I managed to out walk him, I think he finally understood!0 -
i have fitflops, the toe post type and live in them, i suffer terible with my feet and money being tight i to thought hard about paying that much, then found a pair half price in the sale so gave them a go. best thing i did and im now saving for another pair., took a day or two to get used to but live in and luv them now0

Hi Crocs do flipflops that I find comfortable, but they were a bit strange at first, with the way the sole is designed. I got used to mine quickly. Also, I have some that have Velcro on the straps, which you can tighten or loosen, depending on how your feet are, if they swell in the heat, like mine do.
Hope you find something that you like and are comfortable for you. Sore feet are horrible, I know. I haven't worn high heels for years, but this year I keep seeing them and would love to buy some, but I know I couldnt' wear them!

I've had that nasty plantar fisiclitis and its pure agony! nothing really helped me but did find a little comfort from trainers, they kept it supported under the arch of my foot
it lasts a long time sadly, hope you find something suitable soon xlove and hugs0 -
Avoid a toe-post design - your toes automatically 'scrunch' to hold the shoe on and you could further complicate matters with your foot trouble. There are cheaper versions of the fitflop style coming out all the time - start off with one of those and if they help then save up for a pair of the real McCoys! I fancy MBT trainers but me and £90 are utter strangers these days. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Sorry I can't help with your question, I have only wore Cosy feet for the last 23 years as my feet wont tolerate/fit in any others.
I hope you find some to suit and have a good holiday

Thank you so much for all your replies - I am going to have a look at the fitflops without toe posts.
Cheers!0
