Not sure if this is the place to post this but.........for those of you having problems claiming DLA as I did.......keep at 'em!!! I've been at them since beginning of April....been denied and today got a letter awarding me higher rate mobility and lower rate care. Hurraaaaaaah!!!

Update on my foot/feet:
Went to see consultant last week, wound on right foot looking decidedly better. Still need weekly dressings and not allowed to get it wet but it's going the right way. Left leg/foot is really beginning to hurt all the time now, almost unbearable at times. Consultant wants to x-ray them both this Friday and decide if surgery is necessary on it.

Hope you're all feeling well today.

    Hi Sue,

Good on you, I am really pleased for you. It is nice to hear that someone actually has got it, considering the amount of others who have been denied, it gives them hope to keep the pressure on.

Well done Sue, it is the right place, many of us are or have been fighting battles with the DLA, so glad that you were awarded the right decision in the end, it took me about a year to get things upgraded, but, it can be done. just a shame that we have to go through all the upset to get a bit of help. I'm so pleased for you to get the DLA, they took away my middle care component rate let me keep my higher mobility rate tho... have appealed and appealed again now its with the powers that be... have no idea as to which way this will swing, but after joining here and signing the petition i spoke directly to my MP and he is going to fight my corner, maybe those who shouldnt really get it dont bother fighting for it so drop off by the wayside, but those of us who really need and rely on it fight for it, shouldnt have to but thats lifex,
with mine as i got both i had no rent to pay no council tax, for once in my life i didnt have to worry about money, but within weeks of claiming housing benefit they took the middle rate away from me DLA and so the rent now has to be paid as well as council tax... its really been depressing me
    love and hugs

I wonder if the powers-that-be rely on the fact that we are just too tired and ill to scrap all the way for what should be more easily granted? The system is too flawed to be effective - healthy people cannot assess the sick. DD

PS I forgot to say well done! Sorry.
