Pilates or Yoga after THR

Hi
I've had both hips replaced (R in Dec 2010 & L in May 2011) due to OA & am seeing my surgeon for a check-up next week. Expecting to go back to work (admin) sometime in July.

I want to do some more exercising after I come off the crutches & wondered if anyone has done Pilates/Yoga after having THR. The replacement joints are the uncemented ones which give greater flexibily (or young ladys joints as my surgeon describes them!).

Am a bit nervous about being able to get down on the floor for mat exercises even if I don't start until 3 months after the op. Has anyone got any advice for me please?

Thanks

I think it's a great idea, licolnshirelass, but do check it out with your surgeon next week. Some (twisty) movements aren't good for hips, at least for a while. I'm sure (s)he'll be delighted you're trying your best to make this work. Good luck.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
