Ooh, so all round to DDs for dinner tonite then! Sounds yummy! I'll bring the "breakfast".

Just to add my words of encouragement too DD - know we've spoken but wanted to post on your thread too. I think you are doing brilliantly and I is very proud of you! I'm still at 9mg and too scared to go any lower at the moment (wot a wimp eh ). So really well done for getting down so far.

So wot time's dinner then?

Oh bless you all, you may wish to change your opinions of me now as I am in a helluva temper. I have no idea why: the humira delivery bloke was nice and early, my neighbour has given me a stonkingly good haircut (I am never going back the hairdressers again), I have just had a very successful lesson with a young'un, but, ye gods, the pain. :evil I am off to scream into a pillow. Then it's beer o'clock and I have to start to create dinner. Actually, that is probably the cause of the temper: I flaming hate cooking.

6mg is no use to flesh nor fowl. How the hell am I going to get lower? Sheer dogged determination, I suppose, plus I can bask in the self-righteous knowledge that I am denying myself the only med that makes a difference. Martyrdom here I come. DD

PS Had a moment of revelation: it's the thin end of the wedge time. I'd forgotten that salient point. The next belt of humira is due on Monday.

I also forgot some of the key ingredients for the dinner, so I have amended the list. If anyone wants actual quantities etc please PM me. My temper has somewhat improved since I realised what the basic trouble was - I am looking foward to being moderately grotty once again, come the back end of next week!

    Hey DD

Sorry so fed up. But at least you have now worked out some of the reason why and can feel that things will at least improve a bit after Monday's "fix".

    Thinking of you lots.

I am sad to report that I am more grumpy. Due to the pain I have spent the entire evening hunched and crunched, which I know makes things worse but hunching and crunching is the natural response to dross, yes? I am now off to bed, where I shall breathe and visualise and divert for all I am worth, but . . . . . .

Roll on tomorrow, new day, better dross. DD

Oh Tony, thank you! Thank you! I SO want that as my ring tone! furrypurrypillow, furrypurrypillow, furrypurrypillow - Hello? Oh it would work so well.

New day, yes, better dross? NO. Never mind, it will pass, all things do. I won't be about much for the rest of the day or tomorrow. I am away to do wonderful things with wonderful friends. Come hell or high water that is what I am damn well going to do, joints permitting or not. See you all later. DD

    DD,

first - the melts have gone?!!! Just upped and left? I'm overjoyed for you .... have you laid to rest all the towels that used to accompany you to bed?

You have some grit to be persisting with your ban the steriods regime. I suspect it will be like losing weight and the last few mg will be the hardest. Might be time to switch to drops of 0.5mg now.

    Speedy

PS Have you seen an ortho yet? Are they going to give you new knees? WHat is the timescale?
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

It's all gone horribly wrong. Yesterday, for the first time in my adult life, I walked out of a pub, leaving behind 7/8ths of a wonderful pint of Adnams, an un-eaten dinner and Mr DD. I have a slight temperature, my glands are a little up, both ears are blocked with gunge and I feel lousy. I will probably not humira tonight, there is obviously summat up but I don't know what - neither does my GP whom (co-incidentally) I saw this morning. Saturday night was a total blast, this is not payback, this is another beast altogether.

    Ocht DD!

I would have put down all this extra feeling ill tatness due to reducing the steriods 'cos of adrenal glands, cortisone levels etc but you said the doc said no? I am rummaging through my brain and cannae think of an answer.

I really hope your day gets a bit better.

Keep grumping on here like a moaning minnie as it is better oot than in.

Sending lots of positive and healing thoughts.

Morning everyone, there is an improvement over yesterday, which is a good thing, and I am considering doing the humira tonight (which may be my undoing or it may not make much difference, as per usual). I will not be mething this week at all, which will definitely help matters. I was a sensible girl yesterday, and will be today, ie rest, rest and a little more rest. I am amusing myself in trying to back up my BlackBerry on my 'puter, as the phone has developed a fault and I want a new one. That is not going too well but I will persevere! DD
