I saw rock choir a little while ago - just like you, thought WOW just what I need.
Till I looked at the website.

Rock Choir membership fees: £100 per term payable online.
(£30 deposit to secure your place and £70 due in week 3 of term.)

A term is 10 weeks - £10 per week, payable in advance!!!

So I made my own with a 'Dads Rock' CD and my labrador, Archie. :P

Didn't see it but I have read in a mag today that singing is a good way of relieving stress and pain.

(singing might make me feel better but I think it hurts my OH  )

I know someone who used to go to another local community choir-for-non-singers, and then she learned to sing, and that same cohir sort of evolved into a normal one. The guy running it moved away, so she tried this Rock Choir for a term. She learnt a lot about oohs and aahs and not much more, and was very lucky to be singing any words. They tend to have favorites (ie the ones with the best voices – fair enough) but don’t focus on giving everyone the chance they are there for – this person would in no way ever want a solo, but would sometimes like to be singing actual words rather than the backing vocals!
Also, you have to pay extra for things like the t-shirt, which you HAVE to wear when they do their big get-togethers with other choirs etc.

It’s very much a way to make money and not very much about getting everyone involved and engaged in the same way as a normal community choir would be...

Not seen this Princess - but sounds good. Will look out for this. I think this kind of music can be very uplifting and a good way to cheer the spirit!

I did watch it and they did seem to have a great time. Didn't realise how expensive it was though! Perhaps it is worth checking out other community choirs in your area, I know several people who sing in choirs and they each sing very different types of songs. You might be able to find something that suits. Never know, might see you on TV one day?! One of my friend's community choir sang on Corrie.
