I had my new knee a couple of years ago I have always been in discomfort with it the Consultant the last time I saw him said time will heal but it hasn't. I have recently been experiencing a clicking feeling in the knee and when I walk my knee feels unstable I still use my stick because the hip on the same leg is also giving me problems I also still take the same amount of pain killers as I did before I had the knee done can anyone throw a light on the situation you all seem to experience similar problems in some form or another :???:

I can't help on this, I am still making do with the cruddy originals. It seems to me that you need a proper check on this, surely this type of thing should not be happening. New joints are supposed to ease problems, not create more. I know that things can go wrong (and indeed they do) but this does need further investigation. That's my two penn'orth! DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

this is the same as mine, i had left knee totally replaced 4 years ago this week, i take more pain meds now then before and they often dont do anything, i have the opposite hip problem very sore as soon as i put a few metres walk to it...
i had the clicking and the wobbly bit, felt so unstable and often it gave way made me feel really silly, i saw my GP who sent me for physio, they physio said it was muscles were slack and needed building up so got e to do certain exercises to try and help, its only slightly improved, i still cant get my knee into a perfect 90*

hope you soon feel better with your knee xx
    love and hugs

    Hi,
That doesn't sound good. Go get it checked out.
I've had 2 TKR for 12 years now and not had anything like that.

HI Wendy, your hip can't be helping and could well be causing you to use the knee unevenly. I think you should request a check up and x ray to see what is going on with the knee and at the same time ask them to take a look at the hip ....

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
