Hi
Had an appointment with Kris {acupuncture/physio} it was just a consultation re last lot of acupuncture. Apparently they are only allowed to offer 2 courses unless it is working brilliantly well and it isnt with me....so thats it as far as he knows.
My ortho sent him a letter which he hasnt received yet about giving me physio as well as acupuncture........so he did quite a few exercises with me and gave me a list of them and i have to see him in 2 weeks time.
He doest seem to think its a sprain of the sacro illiac.....that is more localised pain.....and as well as other places I have it in my groin and down my leg.....he things its the other hip screaming to be replaced as well. I said I had an appointment with the ortho in 6 months....he said he would wait until he got the letter from him, and saw me in a couple of weeks time and if he thought i should see the ortho earlier than that he would write to him.
So thats about it.....next thing is the 2nd GP appt next Friday

Love
Hileena

    Be gentle with yourself when doing the exercises and let's hope he can chase up the hip chap about a possible replacement, yes? It seems to me you would be better off with a lovely shiny new joint but hey, what do I know? A crystal ball would be so handy at times. :smile: Good luck next Friday. DD
    Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi DD,
    Yes I think he'll manage to chase up the ortho......I probably would be better with a new hip.....it was supposed to be done last October {8 months ago}
    The ortho also dictated a letter to the GP about referring me to a pain clinic and putting me on amitriptiline......wish that letter would hurry up and as soon as I get a copy I'll be onto the GP to try to get an earlier appointment than a week tomorrow {if it comes before then}
    Just taken 2 codeine.....5 mins ago.
    A crystal ball woul be so handy ...youare right there DD

    Hi Hileena

    well I am sorry that you are not going to be having the acupuncture anymore I thought it was helping. :roll:
    I hope the physio helps but as dd says be careful when doing it you dont want to do any harm to yourself.
    Well it lookks like they are throwing everything your way, what else....pain clinic and another med, well I hope it all helps.

    Don't like saying this cause i hate operations myself but i think a new hip would be better in the long run.....sorry :cry:

    I do have my fingers crossed for you and hope that things do improve.
    Take care

    Hi Hileena,

    Sorry that your not going to get the acupuncture, but was it really working for you. I think the next step is they offer has to be the hip replacement. And on that score I do hope I have not worried you. As you can see, everything is going well now for me. So dont be worried on that. And dont forget to push again about those amatriptoline, I'm sure they will help you.

    Hi Tony.....see you've still got your sense of humour :lol:

    Hi Julie, The acupuncture was helping in as much as I was getting relief for about 3 days afterwards and then it gradually got sorer until the next appointment.....1 week between them the first time.....2nd time 2 a week and they didnt seem to work so well....??????
    Goodness knows when I'll grt the amitrip and the pain clinic....not until my new doc gets a letter from the ortho.
    I suppose a new hip would be better :sad:

    Hi Karen,
    No you havent worried me....I think I might have worried others because my first hip was done Feb a year ago and it wasnt very successful....very unbalanced.....people that know me would say...well we always knew you were unbalanced :lol: and my mobility was worse than it was before I had the THR.....which is why I'm not sure about the second one :cry:
    I was due to have the second one done last Oct....same year as the first one was done but he decided my back needed sorting first so thats why everything else eg acupuncture, seen a back specialistetc etc but its no better so I've got an appointment with him in 6 months time.
    Love
