Poor old Columbo has died aged 83. He suffered from Dementia for the last 5 years. R.I.P Mr Falk.

    Poor thing, I loved Columbo to and the film Murder by death was great with him in it.

    His mind had gone, several times he'd been wandering away from home and his daughter and wife had to go out looking for him.
    Sad to see someone go like that.

    No no no, I bet it was more like: by the way, my wife loves your work

    His work will live on forever. Only last weekend I made my daughters watch one of the Columbos. At first, they were saying "Mum, what the hell is this?" But they soon settled down and watched the rest in absolute silence!

    Small bit of trivia, after he made his last Columbo, he packed up smoking his beloved cigars. He'd smoked for 60 years.
    He was part of the original rat pack which included sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford and Frank Sinatra.

    He was very cool, Ron. Just like the actor who played David Banner in the Incredible Hulk programmes. End of an era.

    My Dad loved the Columbo series he used to call him "oldcoates" a tongue in cheek joke - Oldcoates is a village not too far away but given as a nick name to Columbo cos of his shabby mac - time flies my dad died 35 years ago and would have now been 85.

    What a shame. Columbo is often on TV nowadays and still enjoyable. RIP Peter Falk.

    I heard the news about Peter Falk last night! I loved Columbo used to watch it with my mum on a Weekend! He lived to a great age! I'm sure he will live on one of the sky channels with repeats of Columbo!

    It says in the paper today he left £3 million in his will.
