Morning everyone
I hope you are all ok.
I have just had a phone call from LGI asking me to attend the Caardiac Investigation Unit on monday 4th july.
She said they like to do this test before surgery and it is for the anaesthetic......I haven't had this done before, before surgery.
Has any one else?
I did have an ecg at my pre opp and the doc said it was fine.
Sooo can I ask for pocket duty please
aat least i kknow the op isnt next week then eh?
Thank you

Morning julie. . Never had one of those tests before pre op. . Is it because you have underlying condition? Whatever happens luvie we'll be there to help you on your way. . Pocket duties at the ready. Can we tell toni, sticky and DD no alcohol pls. . They are a bad influence on me lol. XxxTracyxx0

Count me in, julie47pf. I will be there with the usual fizz and strawberries and I'll bring some elderflower cordial for traluvie! I don't know why they are doing this either, so let's regard it purely as them being thorough, yes? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I've had the full works cardiology wise!
Nothing to worry about. Given your condition you most likely won't have to do a treadmill test. Probably just the EKG. For cardiac patients they also do an ultrasound scan, like they do with pregnant woman, only over your heart obviously
Best of luck with it all.

Hi hun. I assume it is just them being thorough. I haven't had it done before surgery though. Could be worth asking em why..?

Thankyou everyone for your replies....Like you all say...It is probably them just making sure I am ok to have this op. Hope the aneathasist is happy with my result. (need to be asleep with the op being so far up...don't want to be looking into his eyes )
Kieth....I remember her saying ultra sound in the conversation, but as for a tread mill....well they wont get me on that oh....and I will wear my heart on my sleeve that day as I am rather shy
traluvie, val,DD,Barbara,Dachshund,Jillyb,Tony,Constable and Hileena make as much noise as you like in my pocket, Its lovely to know you are there.

Hi Julie
Count me in!
Its understandable that you are nervous about the upcoming op, and therefore the extra investigations will hopefully give you peace of mind that they are being thorough. Only the best for our Julie eh?!!

Hi Julie
I hope I can help set your mind at rest as Im a nurse, different types of surgery have various protacols to follow pre op, I think because your going to have a very big op on your neck the pre op checks are more rigourous, just try to think of it as they are taking extra special care of you to ensure all goes as smoothly as possible.
I really hope all goes well

Julie, I'm sure Penny's right. Much better to find out all they can about you beforehand. Be thinking of you.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
