Oh Tones
You are a love to post this, I need all the encouragement I can get, I have to have them both done.
Its partly down to me being scared and partly because they say I might not be any less in pain because of my back
But I have watched your post from the very start and you are an inspiration.
So A big Thankyou.Love

Hi there,

Hi Tones
Thanks for that.....I've had one done and need the other one done but he says he doubts that it will make a lot of difference because of the pain in my back.
Its good to hear you are coming on so well.

Congrats Tonysp. Why were you wheeling all that gravel about?
Joan - 16 years old, that is good, what type was it? My left THR is now 14 years old. Hoping it lasts until I breathe my last!!
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
What a brilliant, positive post Tony

Hi Tone,
That's a brilliant post It will help others to know there are real benefits and help make it less scary.
Hey you want to do some more barrowing...... Cris x0 -
Hi, It's really great to hear how well you are doing! I'm not on the waiting list, but I know I'd worry about how mobile I'd be and how strong the hip is. I'm sure you will help people who are waiting for this op. Don't do your back in with too much barrowing, though! Love Sue0

I'm another one who had awful back pain before
a THR 18 months ago, and now I dont have much
back pain at all, and considering that I have protruding
discs and a small fracture in my back, well, thats not so bad at all eh?
So try not to worry too much Barbara.

Sorry about that Someone going to the docs or the hospital or for an MRI anything like that....wears something with big big pockets and we all cram into them to be with you and give you support.....usually bringing smelly egg sandwiches {yukkkk!!!!!} and much nicer things Jammy dodgers, cake, fizzy pop all sorts....no doubt someone else will come on and add to this.......Pockets are usually full of crumbs afterwards
