Hi, I had RA for about 3 yrs now but over last couple weeks been experiencing an awful lot of pain in my groin area, Has anyone else had the same issue?. Hi Blackeyedog,
Welcome to posting
Yes, I've heard, too, that groin pain usually is a sign of problems with the hip.
You need to chat to your Rheumy and/or GP.Love, Legs x

This hasn't happened to me yet, but please let us know how you get on on Monday, I hope it goes well for you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi, I have oa in my hips and spine. The type of pain you are experienceing sounds like the pain that I first had at the top of my leg and mine goes down the inside of the thigh. This gets worse with walking and standing a while. I had quite a physical job. It was x-rayed and I was told that it could be my hip or the lumber region of my spine.
I'm no medic and can't say that your pain is the same as mine, I thought mine was a simple groin strain or something, like the sports people get. Why not go and have a talk with your GP? He/she can order an x-ray, if they think you need it or send you for physio and give you the right medication.
Sorry, I didn't say welcome to the forum. I hope that you find it a useful way of getting information. Love Sue0 -
I had groin pain and was told that its to do with the hip,
and that pain in the hip is usually connected to back pain.
We arent all the same
but when I had had a THR, the groin
pain disappeared.

Welcome from me too , I have RA and have problem knees and hips . I have awful pain in the groin area and it too has been diagnosed as being referred pain due to hip and knee damage . That , however , is me ; we are all very different creatures so I too , would advise getting checked out by your GP . Jillyb0

I am sure you will have many replies about groin pain unfortunately it is one of the symptoms of arthritis in the hips (osteoarthritis) not sure about rhumatoid though. Keep wathching the forum you will learn a lot :P0

Again thank you all so much for responding to my post as we all know Arthur comes in many forms, and that in it self can be really distressing not knowing what the fudge is wrong. Hopefully will be resolved ASAP and i will post.

My mum has a treatment called 'The Bowen Technique', after just 2 sessions she felt a benefit, the pain in her back, neck and hips was much less, she could sleep alot better which meant that she also felt better. She had 4 treatments (over appx 4 weeks) and then a couple over the next couple of months. she now has one about every 6-8 weeks and this seems to keep the pains at mostly bay..
hope this helps

Hi
Thanks for the reminder....I have heard of that but had forgotten about it. After i have this x ray and they decide what this other pain is I might give it a go

Arthritis in the hips can be felt either in the groin or the sort of top-of-buttock area of the affected leg. This doesn't mean to say that any groin pain is caused by arthritis in the affected hip, but it might be.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Good luck Blackeyeddog
watching to see how you get on.

Hiya
i often get right side groin pain only on one side, i had left knee replaced and was told the hip pain was due to the left knee, it comes and goes but i can feeling gnawing at me whilst i type, just lately i feel intense pain on the outside of the hip/leg, had a bone scan last year and it was seen to be arthritis of both hips... the body is a strange thing at times...love and hugs0 -
hi this post has been very interesting as i am noticing different places are aching the bottom of my buttocks when sat and the top out thighs when laid , no groin pain though so i can see we are all so different , i hope you get some answers xI know i am a lady ,all life is a journey xx MAY xx0

Hi All, Just to udate you all, because i forgot to ring doctors at 8.30 when i eventually did get through they had no appointments left for that day, so will try tomorrow. And the reason for the doctors and not the nurse is because i have shared care so the doc says speak to the nurse then the nurse will say speak to the doctor. It dont really benefit me at all.0
