Hi guys.
Some advice and your thoughts please
My son in 5 years old he was diagnosed in march with bilateral anterior uveitis. We see an eye consultant and rheumatologist, the rheumy has done hundreds of test and so we dont have a reason for his uveitis. The rheumy said however that they cant rule out JIA and that over time it might become obvious this is the case, but at the moment there is no sign of it.
My son every few week complains of his knees and or legs (shins and thighs) hurting, this goes on for about 3-4 days and then on the backs of both knees is what appears like red raw eczema, which causes iriitation to him, and the leg pain goes.
What im asking is, is this a form of arthritis that would present like this, as this happens often and always follows the same pattern. The pain he has days leading upto the eczema like thing is terrible, comes in waves about 3 -6 times a day, he collapses with it and cries. I took him to a+e they did xray to check for a fracture, so have ruled that out.
Any ideas or thoughts would be great
thanks

Hi Princess,
I'm so sorry to hear about your little boy suffering, poor him and poor you, as Mums we suffer along with them.
Has your rheumatologist mentioned PA? Only the pain/eczema type rash sounds very like my Psoriatic Arthritis, my psoriasis is mainly on my scalp/neck/behind my ears although occasionally I will get it behind the knees too. Ofcourse the Rheumy may well have ruled it out, It may be worth mentioning it to them next time your son has an appointment.
Sending love and hugs to you both, I really hope that his health improves soon. All the best xxx'grá agus solas'

Hi Princess
I was wondering how the little man was going on, like Poppy says there is PA, all I know is that it can come with eczema, so if you mention this to the rheumy, hopefully you will get some answers then you can move forward
Have you tried looking in on the young peoples forum, there are quite a few mums on there.
I really do wish you both well, and please let us know how he is doing.Love

Hi princess
I am also very sorry that your little boy is in so much pain. I was also thinking along the lines of pa.
I hope he soon gets a proper diagnosis so that he can get on medication that will ease his pain.
Take care both of you
