Hi.
I'm still in a lot of pain with this.....had an x ray done last Wed and have to go back for the results a week today....I rang the GP to see if there was a chance of hurrying it up?? She said she would get on to them. The radiologist said he was x raying R hip L hip and Pelvis....he had also been told by the GP to check for a fracture in my right side.????
She also asked me if I had a physio appt soon....Got one tomorrow so I had to pick a letter up from her to the physio...she said "give that to him before he says anything" :???: I asked her why? "We are hi jacking his appointment with you" she said I got the letter today and since it was addressed to me didnt feel guilty about opening it. She has explained my situation and asked him to "use his diagnostic skills and help her know whats going on" and she underlined that in pen.
She said to me physios are usually better at diagnosing something like this than GP's.....I agree but never thought i would hear one admitting it So we'll find out tomorrow afternoon what he thinks.....then 6pm tomorrow night I start to starve in preparation for the gastro appt at 2.30 next day.

You don't do things by halves, do you Hileena?
I just hope that, by the time they've all had their two pennorth of you, something will be resolved.
May the force be with you.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Sticky..
You are right...I dont do things by half My physio is brilliant so I really trust him.....hope he can shed some light on this recent problem.
Talking about not doing things by half........I have to start the preparation for the gastro appointment at 6pm tomorrow, and then 6am on Wed {and starve} and my appointment is 2.30pm Wed...OK I was prepared for that.
The gastro bloke wrote out a prescription for dulcolax and said take 15mg on Sunday night {3 tablets} I did it and have I suffered today :x I read what he had written...yes 15mg {3 tablets} then read the instructions.....in the tablets.....Take 2 at night and if it is the first time you have taken it only take one.,,,,,and he had me taking 3....triple dose :x :x stupid man.....no wonder I'm suffering
Going back to Kris {physio} last time i saw him he said he thought it was my unoperated hip screaming out to be replaced...the only thing is it keeps moving from one buttock to the other??
Thank poppygirl......I'll post when I find out anything

I never did any pills for my endoscopy etc but I was awake. I just did the drinking of gallons of whatever they give you - while staying within sight of the loo.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi
Its my painkillers they wanted me off {antiinflams} for 2 weeks before it??} and I dont know why he gave me the extra pills??
They say I have to be sedated because i'm having a double whammy.....will probably hear things but wont be quite with it.....whats new and they want Peter in when its over because although I will feel as if I'm perfectly OK they also say I wont take in things that are said...like I said before.....whats new

Hi,
Thanks for your messages......Just one other thing...wish I could complain about that gastro consultant that saw me .....I mentioned in a post above that he told me to take 3 dulcolax....Sunday....gastro isnt until Wed afternoon and I have the preparation to take Tue evening and Wed morning....
It ruined yesterday for me...couldnt leave the house...because it was triple the dose that the leaflet says to take....I've got a physio appt at 1pm...got up this morning and that dulcolax is still working :x :x :x
It looks like i'll be stuck in today as well although I must make this appointment. I'm really angry
Thanks for letting me vent
Love
Hileena0 -
Oh Hileena, you poor thing.
I so hope you make the physio and that you find out more about what's going on.
Re the Gastro insructions - maybe you SHOULD complain? (But probably best to do so AFTER the procedure eh? Cos I reckon it's probably best not to do anything to upset a consultant who is about to do something to you  ) When I had Colonoscopy I had to do to tabs and drink the stuff but I only had to start the day before.
Thinking of you lots Hileena.

Hi Hileena
Want to wish you luck for todays appointment and hope that one of the professional team comes up with an answer for you.
I will also be in your pocket for tomorrows app with arm full of goodies for after your examination. A flask of tea too, you will be ready for one of those.
Take care

Hi Hileena,
With you all the way. Ready and willing (if not especially able) to run you to the loo. What's your best time so far???If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Sticky and Joan,
Just back from the physio and Sticky......on 2 crutches at the minute.....time isnt very fast
Right the physio read the letter from the GP, then he went to search for the x ray that had been done {the one I was told to come back to the docs next Mon to get the results} He got it and said there wasnt much difference.
He then got my MRI from last Oct....{when they cancelled the 2nd THR} and read through that. He said its multifactoral....in other words I took that to mean {like someone said earlier} i dont do things by halves There are so many different things wrong...He said its difficult to know where to start. Could be the hips affecting the back or the back affecting the hips :???: After a thorough examination {which hurt} he has said that the leg pain is coming from trapped nerves {that have been mentioned in the mRI} the hip pain is coming from the pelvis {sacro illiac joint} I asked what would cause that suddenly.....probably because there are so many things wrong its been taking all the pressure and has eventually caved in {didnt say those words..cant remember}
What can be done.......Injection to block the nerves in that leg, or injection...similar to an epidural....then he said Mr Asaad does injections for that {ortho} He then said he would talk to the consultant in his dept that he works closely with and see what he thinks.
He is writing to GP today, writing to Ortho today as well......another appt with him in a fortnights time. He seems to think the pain clinic is a good idea.....the GP said she wanted to sort out this new pain then would refer me to the pain clinic for the old pain?? Hopefully he will mention it to her in the letter. Well thats it untill tomorrow......I'm in pjs now and am going to have a light tea and then in about an hour take the preparation.

The good thing that I'd take from all this, Hileena, is that - no pun intended - things are moving. It would probably be much better if you had one area of pain and one thing wrong but you do tend to go for the jackpot, don't you? I do think that, as they all seem to be liaising a bit better, and more constructively, now things should improve, albeit slowly. I hope so. Meanwhile, all the very best for the gastro stuff. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
Steven Wright0 -
Hi Sticky,
Although I'm sore with all the prodding etc it was a pretty positive appointment. Kris is good and if he says he'll write to GP and to the ortho and consult his consultant {if you know what I mena}..he will do that So just have to wait and see who I hear from first LOL
Love
Hileena
ps Forgot to say....I'm home with a tubular bandage.....rather large one round my pelvis....he says they use that method for pregnant women who have problems with their sacro illiac joint
Not sure it will do much good to be honest but I'll try it0 -
Hello again Hileena,
Glad it was a fairly positive appointment - although clearly whatever is going on is pretty complicated.
Really good luck with the gastro preparation - and with the appointment tomorrow. Will be thinking of you.
Love and ((()))s

Hi Hileena,
Glad your physio had a good look at xrays/mri and explained what he thinks is going on. It sounds like a lot to take in, but its positive that the ortho can do injections. I guess you've to prepare for tomorrows appointment too, I'm thinking of you Hileena and hoping everything goes well. Hugs ((())) x'grá agus solas'

Hi Hileena
You have moved on a little bit, hopefully this is the beginning of something being done to help you, these appointments dont half take it out of you, so tea then early to bed
And good luck tomorrow...will be thinking about you.Love
Barbara0 -
Hi Barbara
You are right...they do take it out of you....but as far as tea and early to bed...not a chance.
Sitting sipping that foul stuff now....over about an hour and then water afterwards....so goodness knows when I get to bed....Just know I have to be up at 6am doing it all over again

Hileena0 -
Hi hileena, I have just read through, to try to get a proper understanding of where you are and what is happening today: yikes. What a deal to take in, cope with and process and what day you face
I am with the others on here, I think progress of some sort has been made: I hope the ortho's injections help, I hope today's malarkey shows once and for all what is going on with at least one bit of you, I agree with frog that Kris does sound rather lovely (does he do private appointments? ) and I sincerely hope that you are now on the road to getting everything sorted one way or another. I am thinking of you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
