If it's cold they say your Arthritis is worse BUT on the days it has been hot my arthritis is just as bad my ankles and feet swell and I feel that I am walking with two dead weights so where does the theory come from about the weather. ???

    Hi Wendy,
I totally agree with you re swelling in hot weather, as my ankle looks like it has it's own moon  :!: yesterday i was trying to paint a ceiling while balancing on one leg, 2 fans going to cool me down and a dodgy packet of frozen peas tied onto my ankle with masking tape....I so wish I'd done the decorating in the winter!!! I can't say I notice any difference in the weather. . I feel the pain no matter what lol. The good thing about the sun is I like the heat on my joints when sore, saves the hot water bottle lol.

    Hi Wendy
I have OA, and I have said it before I suffer much more in the warm weather, they say it could be a change in pressure, but I can suffer most of the summer if its hot....not fair is it.. hope

The truth is Wendy when we're suffering we look around for something to blame ......................and in my case it's not the weather it's usually my husband. :lol::lol:

Nice one, Legs! Though I do think barometric pressure & humidity can play a part.

In April we bought a barometer as a present to ourselves each day we tapped it but it never moved we had heavy rain at one point and a mini heatwave on another day and yes you guessed it, the flippin thing never moved so last week we took it back to the jewellers and they have sent it back to the makers. I just rely on my eyes now look outside and you can usually tell what the weather is doing. We have had a laugh about it though.

You're not supposed to tap barometers, it jolts their internals, giving a false reading. :???:

My knees have been very bad the last two weeks and I had some terribly bad hip pain but I don't know if it's due to the hot weather, may be more due to the sandals I was wearing (due to lack of orthotic support).

I am finding though I'm very sensitive to the heat these days - used to be I was fine with heat and my hubby really struggled but these days it's the other way round! Don't know why, may be something to do with my knee supports but I can't imagine it being the only reason. Anyone else with this symptom?

My RA seems to be ok regardless of cold or warm but it does tend to play up when the season changes generally around Oct/Nov and March/April. Does seem odd or is it me ?
