hello everyone, I have a question please if someone can advise..

I've been for my 1st hyrdotherpy session today and all thought water was lovely and warm, and physio lady was lovely. I'm not sure if its done me any good or not??

I feel like my hip's on fire and throbing, my knee has like a dull ache, just feel like crying...physio said it would ache a little as I have't done anything in a while!

Is this what its meant to feel like??

Sorry I have server OA in my Hip and normal physio did't help.

Thanks in advance

Lisa :???:

    Hi
I am 5 sessions into my second course of hydro. Yes it is normal to have some discomfort after first session, which is why they usually do the first session shorter than rest of course. Try to rest up, and next week tell her how you felt. When in the water next time if you feel any twinges tell her and she will probably adjust the exercises. It shouldn`t be painful whilst in the water.
You have probably used muscles etc.. which you haven`t used in a while, which are probably the ones which they are trying to strengthen.
Hope you feel better soon x

I had a few sessions of hydro a few years ago and the physio would watch in astonishment as my knee ballooned on leaving the pool: as soon as gravity hit that was it. It was lovely whilst in, and you think you can go for ever, but I found that any benefit from the hydro was lost over the following 48 hours I spent marooned on a sofa. Always stop when you think you can easily do more and don't over-work your joints whilst you are in the water. Top up on the dullers and I hope things settle soon. DD

I had 2 sessions. The exercise in the water was nice , less strenuous. . I also felt pain and discomfort afterwards but I had to travel quite far to get to my appointment so that didn't help with my ache's and pains. . I have now cancelled mine but if I had a local place I would continue. You just need to listen to your body and relax when you get home, unwind and keep on top with your pain med's. . Hope it helps. I always found hydro did me the power of good although it did leave me drained of energy.

    You may have overdone it.

I suggest you tell the physio lady how you felt before the next session and she probably will reduce the exercises for you.

I'm with Legs & NB on this. Yes it helped, but I was shattered afterwards. That & the heated water is why they always (at my centre) wrapped you up like a mummy in towels afterwards & made you lie down for 10 minutes at least. I usually fell asleep.

Tell the physio next time how it was for you.
