im close to tears....
this is so pathetic, dont deserve sympathy am just sounding off to myself ...lol
i wanted my small bathroom decorated... no one will do it, hubby works until 6.30pm, kids have almost all gone 2 out of 6 at home now,
i was so fed up with the tattiness of the bathroom that i bought some new just white rippled tiles, and a nice border tile and new accessories... still they sat staring at me...
so one of my daughters came over as she does every week usually as a carer and does jobs around to help me.... but carers allowance stopped but the sweetest girl still comes,
we decided to tackle the small bathroom together... i emphasize small cos it has a bath down one wall from wall to wall, then a cupboard then sink and under sink cupboard, it was newly plastered last time so just wanted to change the tiles.... we took the tiles off that we could reach comfortably, and now.................. now im paying the price... my arms are killing me... my back is hurting but my bad leg the one wth tkr is very painful... i just wanna do what i did years ago but this orrible lazy body just wont let me....
feeling really tearful now when i realise the things i cant do anymore that i used to love doing and that was decorating.... now i have no choice but to wait for the odd hour or so hubby can do the rest....

Ahh Lisa..
I can sympathise with you.. As can most of us..The thing is if your feeling ok you like to do something you can't do on a bad day.. and because you feel ok at the time you don't bat an eyelid, then the beast comes and attacks and then we feel cr*p again..
I don't think there is anytime when we fully accept that we can't do the things we used to.. i think we will always push ourselves a little bit more.. I may be wrong, some people maybe can accept it..
I reckon you should have a little cry to yourself and pour yourself a nice glass of wine and go and chill on your own for a bit.. recompose as they say..Maybe give hubby a gentle kick along the way in the direction of the bathroom..xxTracyxx0 -
awww hun, i so get where your comming from. im looking at my living room and want to paint it but just know it will do me in if i do it. i will end up having a go anyway. i loved doing all my own diy. used to do the tiling and flooring etc but arthur has stuck his nasty nose in and done his best to stop me. you allow your self those tears then pick yourself back up and take pride in the fact you had a go.
gentle hugs xx0 -

Hi Liesa.
You are not being pathetic any anything like it. I think I would end up in tears. It is horrible isn't it realising the things that you can't manage any more. I am so totally with you. Try and keep your pecker up.
I am sending you hugs of comfort for you.

I know how you feel it is just so frustrating. My 11 year old son has taken all the books off the bookshelves to replace with videos and it is taking ages to replace the books. At the moment they all over the floor and sofa. I find it so frustrating and books are heavy and will set off the pain.
Hope you get better soon.

Hi Liesa
You are not alone, I used to do all the decorating, before arthur came to vist.
But a few weeks ago I was fed-up looking at the wallpaper we have bought, so I start to rip off the old paper, what a mess it is....I have to wait now for hubby to find the time to do it....I would say to people dont mind the mess we are decorating.....but now its 5 weeks... :oops:Love

Poor you Liesa, you do deserve sympathy and will get it from all of us. We've all done the same and will probably continue to do it on good days!
Hope you feel better soon
