Consultant Appointment Update

Visited my consultant today, who is a very nice man!
I have to come off the ibfrophen and go on something called Naproxen.
Is anyone using this? Does it work?
I have to stay on the same level of Meth.
So I've to give this a try and go back and see him in 2 month. If that doesn't work then he will give me Methatraxe by injection.
So all in all it wasn't a bad appointment, even though I was getting very stressed about it.
It does help that my consultant is a very nice man!

Hello!
I've been on & off with the Naproxen & Diclofenac over the last month or so.
As others have told me, it's best to also take a stomach protector whilst taking NSAIDs so you don't get any ulcers of anything else untoward happening in your digestive system.
Lansoprazole or Omeprazole are the main two. Your GP should happily prescribe them for you.
Hope things work out well....

Evening Debrakelly,
So glad your consultant is such a nice man - makes all the difference doesn't it. Know what you mean about getting stressed before appointments. I get my knickers in a real knot beforehand!
As you may know, Naproxen, like Ibuprofen, is an anti-inflammatory drug. From my experience, and from what I read on the forum, different anti-inflamms work for different people. Naproxen didn't do it for me but I know that there are others on the forum who find it really helps them. These anti-inflamms can be irritating on the stomach, and hopefully your doc also prescribed a stomach protecting drug like Lanzoprazole or Omeprazole. If not, I would suggest you mention this to your GP sooner rather than later.
Hope it works for you.
