Hi everybody
My name is Ali, I live in London,
I suffer with pain in my right knee and hip joint.
I have seen so many consultants, physiotherapists.
some say it is OA, some say it is not. I have my good and bad
days with pain. it will be nice to share views with people with same problems

Hi Ali and welcome. I'm sorry they can't seem to get to the root of your problem but, as you can see, we're a very varied bunch on here and maybe you can find some answers to your questions. I hope so.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi, it's nice to meet you. OA can be detected via Xray or MRI, I hope they can decide what is going in with you and soon so you know where you are. I have two sorts of arthritis, PA (psoriatic) and OA which has affected both my knees and now, I think, my ankles too: the pain in them has changed over the past few months so now they match the pain in the knees! I had Xrays taken of my knees done in April - seeing them was a shock, bone on bone on the outside of both joints and growths too. Not nice. It isn't easy coping with the pain but I am used to it now, I am in my 15th year of this dross. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Hi Ali and welcome to the forum.

I had written some before but got logged out before it posted ...lol so will keep it shorter this time.

Yes it's frustrating getting diagnosed but you get there eventually. Glad to hear you had a good day and hope it continues throughout the weekend.

Hi, Welcome to the Forum. You'll find it a friendly place and with lots of information and support from people who have a range of problems - some similar to yours!

If you have a good GP and can talk to them and get them on your side, it makes a lot of difference and gives you a person to explain and discuss things with. Not all GP's are like this, some people have good nurses and reumatologists at the hospital who help them. You can find out a lot here, from the experiences of others and also the Helpline, who are very good and helpful.
I have OA in my spine, neck and some other joints. I can sympathise with you about the doctors diagnostic problems, as I've been there. I'm lucky and have a great GP, who is always willing to discuss things and has referred me to rheumatology, physio, you name it and if she can think of it or I suggest it, she will help.
I hope you find this group helpful and supportive, I know I do.
Nice to meet you! Love Suexx
