Sulphuric acid will do it!, honestly though Google it there's got to be someone who's tried Yak spit or some odd thing on bird dung!., we get red kite round here and boy when they turn out it's like a flying cow has done a do do on your car.

That is so true, I once went out with a bird I met in a pub in Colchester, I was attracted to her because I was really rat assed and she wore a very erotic donkey jacket .....

Oh I know that feeling well   since hubby has been feeding the birds for years.

In my experience, unless the birds have also been helping themselves to lots of berries (don't hang washing out if they have  - you won't have to ask how to tell when they have  ) if you let the offending article dry, most will brush off, then a normal wash in biological detergent usually does the trick.

in return .... perhaps you can advise me how to persuade the birds to EAT the stuff rather than plant it all in my garden

Thanks to the birds' less-than-controlled toilet habits I now keep all washing indoors. The wet stuff dries overnight without any need for a re-wash. DD

Don't you have to wash it through again? What about disease carrying birds? Am I being paranoid? I always wash mine again if it has bird poo on it.

I bought a very nice bird feeder last year and my girls love feeding the birds because we can't keep pets (both of us work full time, we can just about manage the kids). The result is that they overfeed the birds, squirrels and foxes that now come daily to our back garden. Honestly, it's practically a ZOO out there.
