We have one now. It is popular with autistic kids so bought it off a website for toys for autistic children.

Why would they want to?Mig :shock:0

I used to spend hours playing with a whip and top, chalking patterns on the top and trying to keep it spinning for as long as possible. I used to have competitions with my friends to see who could keep it spinning the longest. Why don't children play games like this any longer :?: I suppose it's called progress, but we always used to be outside skipping, playing hopscotch, playing with whips and tops etc. There are children living on my road, but I rarely see them playing out.0

I did have a gyroscope which you wound the string round and pulled it, then placed it on a line, same effect.0

The only difference {if I remember right} was the gyroscope went once but the whip and top,......you got it spinning and then kept hitting it with the whip to keep it going
Is that right??
