I would be interested in answers for this too as at some point in the future I would love another child if I felt that I was controlled enough to bear the extra weight. :)

I started with RA at 15 and had my two when I was 24 and 27 but it was different then (1970 & 1974) as there were no DMARDS about. With the first I went into complete remission. It came back with a vengeance after he was born. With the 2nd it didn't & there was never going to be a 3rd!

It's the meds that are a problem for the growing foetus but there must be more stuff you can take now than in my 2nd pregnancy when all I was allowed was soluble aspirin and, no, it didn't do much for it!

Getting the RA back under control both times took about 6-9 months but, again, there wasn't a lot of stuff available at the time.

No way would I be without my two, or my grandchildren, but it's definitely hard graft and I had a great husband and family at hand to help.

There may well be an A/C publication on this. Try putting it in the search engine.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I was diagnosed in 1999 and pregnant in 2003. Everything was fine, I had no increase in arthritis as I was only on sulfasalazine throughout. My problems started after the birth when R.A came back severely so I would advise you to have an appointment set up for a few weeks after the birth. I had a 3 month wait for an appointment during which time I could barely move, sleep, eat and a lot of pain and damage to my joints happened.
    Very best of luck.
Let us know how you get on.

    thanks for all the answers,

i am actively trying for a baby, oh is also helping out :P
hoping we are blessed and can complete our family.
i have heard remission is possble with both arthritis and crohns during pregnancy, but can come back with a vengence after the birth, but is a chance i am willing to take.
i'll keep you posted if we have anynews next month
