well do you have what i can only discribe as heavey days it like wearing a heavey diving suit every move such an effort no real pain as such but an all over ache and no position that comphy to sit or lay does not go off with movement .
if you do what do you do to cope with it i find on such days end up taking pain meds and going back to bed exhausted what about you val

Oh yes.....sometimes it feels like I'm swimming through treacle.

And yep, painkillers & a welcoming bed are the answer.

You're not alone in hoping things will be back to normal once you wake up again. I have that feeling every morning.....and it's always a terrible let down when I realise everything's the same!!

I don't really think I do. Not without pain. I think it's always pain-related with me. Hate bed during the day though so I just sit in the recliner instead.

Val, I do get the heavy exhusted feeling but my pain never goes away so it is alway with the pain and my pain killer just dull the pain to a sort of managable state, my only other choice for pain killers is Morphine and i don't want to go there yet.

One the days when i get the heavy feeling i try to carry one but do things a lot slower and if it is a working day well fortunately my boss is really good and I just get a lot less done (while longing to sit on the sofa with a hot water bottle and do nothing).

I hope the feeling passes soon for you.

    Hi Val
On days like this, I cant wait to get in my bed, and take the weight off my bones.
I hope you feel better soon, just try to rest, and have a nice hot bath to relax your muscles.
    Take care
    Love

I sure know that feeling. Hanging the washing out just makes me ache sometimes -and that's not my OA. I just sit and relax as and when I can.

Yep, I know that feeling to. I wake up in the morning, get out of bed and then it hits me firstly how stiff I am all over, even fingers. I'm a robot coming down stairs. I know my Hubby feels this too. Must be all part and parcel of arther. Some days haven't even got the energy to do any housework and will jusy go back to bed once the girls have gone to school in the hope that I will feel more refreshed, nope.

well breathing so much better can take deeper breaths today ibuprophen kicking in exercise and warmth loosening muscles in back and chest so doing ok it always amazes me how little pain this causes just feels strange chest uncomphy (ok hurts  ) but so used to that do not pay any attention to it. have wandered up and down garden (i know stupid but well do enjoy pottering out side and if sit still will stiffen) cutting grass love my hover mower so much easyer. so all in all feel human again and not half as exhausted as did sunday do wonder it it was because breathing was so shallow tut tut must pay more attention just creaps up on me some times val

    Hello Val

So pleased things are a bit better for you today. And I know what you mean about enjoying pottering outside when you can. I reckon it can make the world of difference to how you feel.

    Thinking of you.

Hi Val, re the heavy feeling - rest and heat pads and not staying in one position long enough to get too stiff if possible.

Hope you start feeling better soon.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
