Sorry, anniek, I can't help you on this one but I'm just bumping it up a bit in the hope that someone else can.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi there, sorry but I can't help you. Only a suggestion but what about contacting the hospital where you had it done and asking for their advice, or contacting you local G.P. I do hope that you do get some advise and help, and let us know how you get on.

Hi Anne
I had my bunion and the next two toes dealt with, one toe had a pin in it, so not nearly as much surgery as you had.
I am a good three months on and my foot is still swollen and goes a kind of reddish colour sometimes. After a nights sleep and before I put any weight on the foot, it does not look too bad but still swollen, but as soon as I put weight on it, it swells up and goes the reddish colour. I have seen the surgeon at 6 weeks and three months and he is extremely pleased with his work and moves the goal posts each time as to when the swelling will go. Now he tells me it will be by the end of the year which will be 9 months since my op. We are all different though regarding post op recovery. He told me confidently that the swelling will definitely go down. I can only get on two pairs of flip flops and one pair of sensible sandals. When it was raining on Friday I was able to get my foot into a very old pair of trainers thank goodness. Other times when it has been raining I have not ventured out too much.
My foot does not hurt as such - sometimes get the odd twinge. I am so glad that I had the op at the end of March and not at the beginning of Autumn or winter!
Hope some of this may help you and please do not hesitate to ask me any questions should you wish to do so. You have had a lot done to your foot. He told me, mine was a major operation, so yours was a major, major op.

Me neither, Anne, well not my nice turquoise crocs but last week I did actually manage to get into one really oldy pair of imitation crocs which were a big fit before the op. Am waiting to get into my mbt's too. The sandals I can get into have velcro straps too. Now in the past two to three weeks I can have the velcro fastened where it should be and not loosened if you know what I mean, but still the foot looks "fat" in the sandal but it does not hurt, it is not uncomfortable. Surgeon told me flip flops were ok for me when I asked at the three month check but I had actually been wearing them already in the garden. He said I could wear what type of shoes I liked  well i would if they fitted!
