Hello everyone

Well as you know it will be 3 weeks on thursday that I saw my surgeon annd had all the assessments done. He told me to ring if I hadn't heard within the 3 weeks......I just Rang

I explained to the secretary and she was annoyed with the surgeon (But lovely to me) that he keeps telling people to ring if they don't hear anything.
I asked what position I am on the list and I am no 15.

I then asked will it be within thenext two weeks. I then explained that we have a holiday booked on saturday for one week.....She said "you go on your holiday, I reckon you will not have surgery until august"
I DID stress that I was WILLING to CANCEL as surgery was more important.

soooo I still haven't got a date  but I am now going on hol

I have asked my daughter to call a couple of times to see if there is a letter.

My neck op has been lingering a long time and I bet you , like me will be glad when phase one is over. (sounds like a construction site , phase one  )

take care
love juliepf x

    Hi Julie

Well, you may not have your op date yet. But at least you know you can go on holiday with piece of mind that it wont come through and be for when you are away. Enjoy your holiday and rest up as much as you can. Where are you going anyway, hopefully somewhere nice and hot.
And when you get home you know it wont be far off for the op.

    Afternoon Julie

So sorry you still don't know what's happening - but as you say, the "silver lining" is that you can now go on holiday!

    Thinking of you.

    Hi Julie,
I am sorry that you have been on tender hooks for an appointment that was never going to happen.
Still it might be the right way round because you can go and enjoy your holiday. I have been to Cromer many years ago and we had a lovely time the weather was gorgeous and best of all we stayed at the bathhouse hotel with our window open all night listening to the sea on the shale. Soo soothing.
Hope you have a great time, enjoy.

Hope letter is at home waiting for you after your hols. Would be good to get the op over and done with.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

It's kind of good and bad news isn't it, Julie? Well done, you, for chasing it up. I think, like you, I'd probably prefer the op to the holiday at this point in time but at least you know you can go and enjoy it. (The holiday, not the op!) And you won't miss anything if your daughter's checking up for you. Hope Cromer is lovely.
