What a shame, such talent and so young. I loved her music.
May she rest in peace x

What a strange world we live in.
How could we have made her see... she was what we wanted to listen to? An amazing talent.
Well done to those around her who tried to do that.
    Hope she finds some peace.

What a waste of a life eh? So young too. She was a brilliant singer who had won Grammy's for her work. It's such a pity she lost her way in life.

There is one thing we all have to remember, although a lot of Amy has been reported and the Norway incident hasn't been highlighted as much, they all have one thing in common.

Families have lost loved ones. It's a shame people are comparing them both and also after the tragedy in China as well, it just goes to show what kind of a cruel world we all live in by taking so many lives of sons, daughters, grand daughters, grandsons etc... in the space of 2 days.

Amy was battling demons, and to be fair Norway is also now battling a demon after the attacks, only difference is Amy's demons were to strong for her :(.

    RIP Amy x

What gets me with poor old Amy is it was like watching a car crash in very slow motion, those close to it/her could have and should have done so much more to bloody well stop the so obvious wreak that’s now happened didn’t.
I always wondered if she would get herself this way but I never thought it would be just yet, I always hopped she would pull through but sadly she’s gone.
Back to black was such a good album I hoped she could go onto greater things but sadly I was wrong.
When I say more could have been done for her my mind goes back to when Jonnie Cash got hook on speed, his family went and basically kidnapped him took him to his country house and kept all visitors away until he was fully cleaned out but Amy never had that attention, She was left in a very dangerous situation by those close to her who should have done more for her, and it killed her. Tough love was what should have been applied but it wasn’t, the music industry looked after her but ironically is what she needed to get away from and totally to clean out, the whole business is corrupted by pushers and dealers and general brown nosing crowd of sycophants, not a sane or safe place to be , she was really fecked up but was still giging and messing up at live shows when she should have been as far away from the eye of the storm as she could be.
More disturbingly she was totally in love and married to Pete Docherty type k*^b head, who was a smack head and all round full time feckwit so the Girl had no real chance did she?.
So now sadly we can add her name to the growing list of extremely talented tortured souls who like a supernova shine so brightly but burn out so fast. RIP Amy.

From what the papers are saying (is that without phone hacking?) her flat had no drugs in it, I wonder if her body just gave out due to years of neglect, we wont know until the post mortom they said it will be done today so we will know more in a few days I guess.
And why do they always say drink and drugs, just say drugs legal and illegal, booze is bloody dangerous and should be thrown into the same pit others have been.

As the daughter of an alcoholic mother I agree with you Mel, I personally think drink is very dangerous as it's so socially acceptable. Thing is, what can you do if the person you love is in the grip of this addiction? Unless you have a lot of money or clout within the NHS you're pretty much left on your own to deal with it.
And then ofcourse, if you do get off the booze and get sober, the damage done to liver, kidneys, heart etc is irreversible.
I feel so much for Amy's family, unless you've been there and watched a loved one self destruct despite you doing all you can, you really can't comprehend the pain.
My love and prayers are with Amy's family and loved ones xxx

Hi Poppy did you listen to any of her music?, I bought the back to black CD on the stregth of the second single lifted from it not rehab didn't like that one that much but the rest of the CD was bloody great really really good sound and style, sad she was a mess, they say she couldn't handle the fame either way she's gone so that's it, the flame that burns twice a bright burns twice as fast I guess, I must say though I feel somthing different should and could have been done for her, sadly it's all to late.

    Hi Mel,
Yeah I loved her music, bought Frank when it came out and was hooked. It is so sad, people did try to help her, but like I said before, the damage done to the body during substance abuse is bad and not something you can always alter. God rest her Xxx

I fear all the counciling and fluffy bunny stuff was pointless here she was to badly damaged for any of it to work, her parents should have taken her totally out of the loop and got as far away from London and the set she hung around with a place where she couldn't also get access to the drugs she used daily, it would maybe have worked but we'll never know now. Anyway I must get the first CD, was it as good as back to black??.

I liked Frank when it first came out, it was a different sound but that voice! wow, with Back to Black it was perfected, a brilliant album. Poor girl though, even if you could have removed her from bad influences, she had an illness, and sadly it doesn't go away.

    Hi

Yes its a shame but she had all the help she wanted, needed but still she went down that road...I mean as far back as the song rehab, people could see the path she was taking and despite many priory stays, st lucia holidays and management refusing her to drink in serbia and she still got hold of something......Her marriage to that pig of a man didnt help but even if she'd have married cliff richard, amy would still have rebelled.....Other addicts dont have the help she had but they have to cope/or not....She had an addictive personality....I do feel for her parents who feared for her so much her dad had already written her eulogy....Its a shame the public didnt get to see the loving, sweet girl, instead it was the fighting, cursing and rude girl...
Im surprised Pete Docherty is still on the go, he is surely bound to go the same way...

There was a C4 program on late last night looking at her life, the main problem was her ex husband he was a total **** and scag head and dragged her down the same path, she was besoted with him, they say love was blind and this was exactly the problem.
Also there was a clip of her sitting on a sofa with a guy just playing guitar she was singing for a record company looking for a recording contract and boy what a voice honestly bloody perfect, people like her are born with it, they are those rare souls who just turn up from time to time, whatever her faults I will always be thankful of what she managed to do while she was here, having talent like that is God given, you can't train or learn it,you can't cheat or fake it you either got it or you ain't and boy did she have it.

I was on holiday when I heard the news, I had just turned the telly on (as I watched it in bed while hubby was in the casino! ) And was about to take my meds when I saw it on the ticker tape on Sky news my mouth just dropped open and when they started going through it on the news I just cried. I felt for her dad & the rest of the family, and her friends the real ones that tried to help her. It is a real talent lost I have her back to black c.d and it's one of my favorite c.ds in my collection. I hope the family and close friends are left to grieve as she was a daughter, a grand daughter and friend to people and she was a human being. Very sad loss.
