Hi All,
Just a quick note to spread a bit of cheer. I haven't been on the AC for a few months and some of you may remember that I was having a few problems dealing with my AS and general 'lot in life'.
Well thankfully things have improved - most notably my inability to concieve. That's right, finally I can say I am pregnant!! Hooray!!
It's taken a looong, time lots of planning and 'lots of why isn't this happening' but hubby and I have managed to dumbfound the Dr's and overcome our infertility issues and couldn't be more thrilled!
Of course, me being me, it hasn't been smooth sailing to say the least and my AS has kicked of in a horrible way but at least there is some sort of reason to it whereas usually there is no explanation for why it flares up when it does. Somehow this seems easier to deal with.
If anyone has a great name for a babe that they are happy to share I would love to here it!

Arna, many congratulations on your pregnancy :!: That really is wonderful news and it's made my day Having battled with infertility problems myself years ago, I know exactly how it feels, so I'm always thrilled when I hear of a pregnancy like yours. Luckily, in my case, we were able to adopt our beautiful twins when they were tiny babies ( the best thing we ever did )
Good luck to you for your pregnancy, and I hope that you will keep as well as possible.

Congratulations Arna.We will be looking forward to hearing all your news. So sorry you are in so much pain but the result will definately be worth it.
You will have to buy a book of names! Are you looking for something unusual?
Jilly I think your choice of names are lovely. I have a friend who named her little girl Hope and another Faith. No Arthurs though!

Hi Arna,
Oh flower CONGRATULATIONS to you both
Sorry the AS has kicked off flower but maybe it will go into remission for a bit cus that would make it easier for you.
Names... the employers said I am useless.... side glances from both Something and Thingummy so best not ask me
Tis good to see you girl and even better to hear your news about the little one. Please as others have said give us up dates and keep in touch. Love, big smile and a ((( ))) Cris xx0 -
What wonderful news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE hearing good news like this - especially when people have been waiting so long.
Good for you xxxx0 -
Goodness me! What a wonderful lot you are! Thank you all so very much for your warm wishes and support - it means a lot x
I am really happy because I am almost 17 weeks now and I officially have a nice little bump to parade around! It seems more real when you can see what is actually going on!
It will be interesting to see whether we have a boy or a girl. I think it will a girl and Barney is convinced it's a boy - mainly because there hasn't been a girl born in his family for 128 years! I would love to buck the system and surprise everyone!
Although the AS has reared it's ugly head it had to be expected. Apparently with AS patients 1/3 of women feel the same during pregnancy, 1/3 feel better and a third get worse. Although I am worse for wear I have been very fortunate and so far have had great treatment by my Rheumy department, GP surgery and Obs consultant. Long may it last.
I will pop on here a bit more often and keep all you clucky hens updated - hopefully there won't be much updating to do and it will all go as smoothly as could be hoped.
Arna xx0 -
Congratulations!!!!
I am happy to hear your news and soon you will be ready for a scan and the first photo of your baby, Are you going to ask for the sex of the baby or are you going to wait for the surprise.
Sadly I have never had children but always said if I had a little girl I would call her Elouise after watching a training film about a baby who needed to be adopted. My friend had her first child after fertility problems at 42yrs and they called her Neveah (pronounced ne-vay-a)it is Heaven spelt backwards as they believe she is Heaven sent.

Hi Arna
So thrilled to see this news, after your last very touching and moving thread some time ago. I guess you stopped throwing things at hubby in your despair at the health issues then!!
Please do let us know how you get on and be very proud of your bump. Good to know your medical team are all supporting you so well, I hope the AS backs off a little and you can both enjoy this good news and start bonding with bump yet to be named. I really am so pleased to see this.
love to the three of you. (((( )))
