There's no need to panic, at last you know what's what and when it's going to happen. I know nothing about the procedure but I am sure they will be able to answer your questions at the pre-op, well, I hope they can! I am sure all will be (and will go) well this time around. DD

    Hi bertygirl

I can understand your panic! it's getting the pre-op /op dates...suddenly the reality hits and the nerves jangle. :!: but.... as DD said, I'm sure the surgeon will explain all that's to happen and answer any questions you have.

You've had a tough time since last year.... but hopefully this op will put things right and you'll be pain free.

Sending you positive vibes and calming ((((hugs))))

    Hi there

I agree with DD and Iris. It's ok knowing you need this op, but when you get the actual go ahead is so different. It does become real and frightening, but you will be in good hands and everything will be explained to you.

If you would like pocket duties for the 9th, I will in your pocket.

Hi bertyboy, how are you feeling now? I hope you are feeling a little less stressed about it all. I know it's been rough for you but you do need to get sorted, yes? You know we will all be behind you on the respective days. DD

Hi, It is a shock when you get a date for an op. However much you know you need it and you've been longing for the date to come and the job over and done with, but I'm sure that you'll be fine and glad you've had it done. Lots of love, Suexxx

    Hi Berty.

Can fully understand your panic mode....I am in that mode too.

I am pleased though that you have both dates. One for your assessment and then for your op. I went for my assessment 23 jun and I am still waiting for my op date. :x

Will be waiting to jump in your pocket on the 9th.

    Take care

    Hi Berty,

Late as ever bit you know I am with you on the 19th and for the pre-op.

Like Iris said its not surprising your getting panicky especially cus you have been there before so short a time ago.

I think your right put it out your head and leave it shelved.

You know I think they really will get it right for you this time and they will look after you and we(and thats all of us lodgers and employers included) will be lurking in them shadows. love and more calming hugs i nicked from Iris earlier. Cris xx

    Hi Berty

I will be thinking of you and squeezing in what will be a crowded pocket on the 19th. Bless you for so kindly thinking of, and reassuring others facing knee ops even in your current panic mode. I know things haven't quite worked out for you so am especially crossing my fingers this time and hope you have a successful outcome and a good recovery.
    take care
    love

Hi Berty, panic mode is normal. Use that adrenalin to get all organised and prepared and then focus on how great it will be to get that knee sorted!

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Bertyboy

I understand exactly how you are feeling  I am going in for a bi-lateral THR on 9th September and I am also very nervous and panicky. I will be in your pocket for your pre-op and your surgery and we can recover together. Good luck and I really hope it all goes well for you xx
    Big Hugs
