Well.....I'm back....everything is still up in the air.

Its going to be a matter of test after test to get rid of things.....not just a matter of saying you have such and such!!!

At the moment the most i know is......
the liver scan I had showed a slight abnormality....I knew that.....he says it looks as if some of the ducts leading to the liver are partially blocked....possibly by a gall stone but he needs more tests to check that out.

Something has happened between last September and now because the liver test in Sept was perfectly normal :?: :?: Asked had I changed tablets when he saw me puzzling about what it might be.....but not as far as I know

H examined me.....didnt comment much on that...asked lots of questions.
then decided to do a bone scan.....what a bone scan is i'm not sure...I said a dexa....Oh no not that one....this one makes you glow and he laughed

Then probably after that an MRI but on my liver.....not the usual back or hips MRI.

I then went to the nurse who did blood tests....6 different ones....she told me to sit for a few mins????because of the amount of blood she had taken??? Had loads of blood tests before but never been told that.

Oh well have to wait to hear from him now and see what happens....but what on earth it could be that happened between Sept and now to do something has us both puzzled. He suggested a change of tablets. Mostly when my tablets have been changed it was with this new GP and I have been like this long before I changed to her. The old one gave me trammies for this....I got the prescription.....realised what it was and didnt take any :lol::lol: Dont like the effect they have on me
So thats about it

Love
Hileena

    Evening Hileena

Not sure how you are feeling about things after today's appointment but what comes across from your post is that it sounds as if this consultant is going to work hard to get to the bottom of what's happening rather than saying "not my department" and sending you off to someone else (which has been my experience  ). Sounds as if they took a lot of blood! Hope you've still got plenty left  . Really hope you can view this appointment as as step in the right direction Hileena and that you don't have to wait too long for the next tests.

    Thinking of you lots.

Wow. What a deal to take in. Doctor DD prescribes a nice sit down, with a lovely cuppa, then send Peter out to get a takeaway (no cooking or washing up - eat from the cartons with disposable flatware!) and distract yourself with the telly, a good book or a jigsaw. Then, come tomorrow, have a little think about it all. Strewth hileena, wow. What a deal of info to absorb. DD

Hello, sounds as if you've had a busy day! I expect, if you are like me, you'll want to know now and waiting for the results will be the difficult part.
The consultant is really working hard to find the cause of your problems and thats good. Hopefully, before too long he'll be able to give you answers and some effective treatment. love Suexxx

    Hileena,

I felt tired reading that andntrying to keep up, great news that they are looking into every avenue to find the problem and not just pushing it to the side. I suppose it's just a matter of time to see wait the results show. Sit back have a glass of wine, box of chocs and chillax after what must have been a stressful day. Xx

    Hi Hileena
You must be so weary of all this, like you I was hoping you would be a bit wiser, but hopefully the blood test will be fine, and the bone scan may give them a clue.
So its back to the waiting game
Wishing you well with it all.
    Love

    Hi Hileena,
Well he seems to have decided to check all avenues. It is frustrating that you are back to the waiting game for bloods and more scans, but things are moving at last and I don’t think he will rest until satisfactory explanations are uncovered.

    Gentle hugs,

    Hi Hileena

Well you must be confused. But at least this doctor is being very thorough with all the blood tests and the special MRI for your kidney and the light up scan for your bones.

He's bound to find something with that lot, so keep fingers crossed, I certainly am going to for your.

    Hi Hileena,

Sometimes flower things just happen with no reason. You mustn't beat your self up over something you have done, a tablet you have taken etc cus the fates do just chuck out a few things at random.

I had that scan... it was actually fascinating

You are radioactive for 48 hr after but its inside 'acceptable' levels..... there were some things I was told about that but I can't remember now cus it was 4-5 years ago and I tend to have trouble remembering yesterday  #

The take some blood out, mix it with some isotopes that attache to your white cells and stick it back in you. |It encourages the white cells to stick to it and that way they can see where the white cells mass and where you have infection.

Mine especially seemed to like the lumber and the neck but it was given me to see what the bowl was up to and though it collected some it was way off the number the neck and back collected.

They ultra scan you with a full living moving scan after an hour, 2 hours and 4 hrs I think but don't quite remember.

Hileena at least they are being thorougher..... Its hard for you though to have all the possibles and not have a real diagnosis. I hope they will soon get it sorted for you. Tea and a ((((( ))))) and a bucket of hopes Cris xx

    Aw Hileena

What a tiring day you have had!!

Waiting for the test and the results is always so frustrating and no matter how much you try to think of other things, it just keeps creeping back into your mind. I really hope you can see the positive side of things, that this doctor is being very thorough and isnt just fobbing you off with painkillers etc. Dont drive yourself mad ttying to think of what could have happened since September as sometimes things change for no reason at all.

My thoughts are with you and I really admire your strength as you have been through so much lately.

Sending you great big hugs, hope you get a good nights rest xx

    Hi,
Sorry I've just come on line for a short time.
Like a lot of you say.....waiting is the hard part and its true....he is not fobbing me off nor is this new GP so I should be thankful for that instead of moaning about going back and forward for tests.
Chris....thought you might know about that scan  reading your post reminded me of something else he said when I was pushing for what he thought it could be...ladies of a ceretain age  can get a disease....cant remember if he put a name to it but it was an autoimmune disease where the cells started attacking your liver
Dr DD I like your prescription....and who was it prescribed choccies as well :lol:
One last thing is they have got 2 weeks to get some more tests in before i go away for about 9 days and I'm not cancelling it
Next week up to the minute I have an eye appointment {nothing to do with this and the the next week...day before I go away i have the dexa scan {bone density} and that is it until I come back :lol:
Well I wont be long before I come off line........I'll think about nice things tonight....got a hairdressing appointment in the morning.....colour cut and blow dry so that will cheer me up a bit
    Love

    Hi Julie,
Yes it was confusing.....I keep remembering things he said later on.....came out and tried to write down what he had said {roughly} and bit by bit i keep thinking....Oh yes he said this or that
eg bone scan was for inflammation {not any wiser} but little things like that.
Back from my hair appointment and am quite pleased with the colour....I got into the car....first time for ages and drove there....both crutches in the back.....stopped the car and the heavens opened and it poured down. I thought Oh well....not far to walk and grabbed my brolly from the back and suddenly realised...Oh dear.....2 crutches and one umbrella   Not a good idea so ended up hobbling to the hairdressers on one crutch and with brolly in the other hand.:lol:

Ah...Yes....I would not have tthought of that either, 2 crutches and a brolly (sounds like a film  )

Glad your haiir looks nice and that youu are pleased with it. Hope the weather dried up for your return to the car. It did absolutely throw it down here and it wouldn't have taken long to be soaked through.

    Morning Marion
I'm sitting here hoping the morphine kicks in soon and I can start getting dressed and ready.
My GP is very thorough.....shes like a dog with a bone  she wont let go  and the generalist i saw the other day seems to be as determined to find out whats wrong.
I just hope its not much longer before they find out.......knowing whats wrong is a bit like having a date for surgery.........regardless of what it is.......I could relax more and sort things out if I knew.
Its just dragging on and on.
My life just seems to be on hold at the moment ...waiting for the result of the next test and then going for another test
    Sorry for the moan
    Love
    Hileena

Well I hope all these stabbings and testings lead to some answers and quickly, Hileena.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
