Hello, I called DLA today & aked for a review of my benefits. At the mo I get HR Mob & low care. I'm aware things are going downhill a bit for me & while I'm not happy about it think its time to review. Wanted to ask if any experiences of doing this lately? I did ask if this would involved the dreaded ATOS but it seems you just need to complete a form re the changes. Have to admit although its my choice and I'm aware they can downgrade etc I'm a bit shakey about it. Thank you.

Hello, thank you Cris, good to 'see' you too hope all is well? I thought I'd wait and have a look at the form then maybe trot down to the GP's. I've also seen a physio so his report may be on the file too. I've noticed they (the GP's) are now describing it as 'severe' arthritis. Also have been taking Morphine/Tramadol/diclo the whole 3 ring circus for a few months. But, you do read such worrying things don't you? I read someone on another board saying people on Morphine were being turned down for DLA/IS etc so I challenged him/her and asked them where the info was coming from. Turns out it was just an opinion, fair enough ~ but it does worry the life out of you; and we really don't need it do we?

    Hi Mousey,

There are a lot of things being said flower but its not surprising when you see the esa thing. I don't know about this one flower but if they are saying severe and back it up with the letters hopefully it will all be a formality.

Your probably rigjht and wait til you get the form and your doc and you can run through it maybe? I wish i knew the answer but someone here will. Will keep my fingers crossed for you. Cris x

Mousey, when you send the form back it would be helpful to send in as many letters from GP, consultant, physio etc that you can to support your claim. I believe it helps to have additional support to back up your abilities.

I wish you luck with the form

You will need to be very careful that you don't lose what you have already been awarded. However if you feel things have got worse, and you feel you should be getting MRC or HRC then let them know how things have deteriorated but make sure you also add all the previous difficulties. If you have your old forms copy info onto the new forms (in your own words) as well as the new information and back up with GP/hospital reports if possible.

    Good luck .

Hi, you need to make sure you include the fact you need at least 20mins help at night to qualify for MRC. Could be made up of 5 / 10 mins each time & include how many times per night you need that help.
Could be turning over & getting comfy.
    Help with meds.
    Going to the toilet etc.
then include all the help you need during the day the same. DLA is about the help you need more than the condition itself.
Send in as much information as you can & try to get CAB or welfare to help fill in the forms. That way you have far more chance to qualify.
    Good luck, debs
