My husband and i went to the states last year he had to have anti clotting jab before we flew there and back, you should have a letter confirming you need the jab and tell them at check-in and at security we told them both and had no problems.as for keeping it cool talk to cabin crew they should have faclities for keeping it cool but as it is only a short trip it might not be nessesary.hope this helps Mig

    Hi Anky,
I'm on the enbrel and methotrexate injections same as you, I only had a 2 hr journey to IOW but as you know Enbrel has to be kept cool so I bought a frio travel wallet from my chemist. You can also use a school lunch box the ones with an iceblock in the bottom zip up bit  I also popped a cheapy thermometer in the pack to check temp as it must be kept between 2 - 8 degrees.
Hope that helps, pm me if u want anymore details  and have a great time in France you lucky thing! Xxx

    Hi

I flew to Canada last year carrying Humira which had to be kept
    at a cool temp.

7 hr flight plus time at airport etc.

Be careful with the size of the ice packs.

I bought a cool bag from the supermarket along with two largish ice packs
and was took to one side at security check.
Each pack was more than the 100ml allowance for liquids, seemed a bit crazy to me seeing as it was frozen.

However, they 'let me go' and told me to adhere to the rules next time.

I did have an 'authorisation to take the drug' letter with me but no-one asked to see it. But of course depends where you are travelling and who is on
    'jobsworth' that day.

No, not knocking security checks at all, its very important.

Enjoy your hols all of you travellers.

Hi, I just got back from a trip to Tenerife where I took enbrel. I bought a cool bag with some gel ice packs to keep it cool and put it in the fridge when I arrived. The total journey including transfers etc was about 9 hours and all was fine with mine.

I did ask at boots pharmacist before I went and they said that diabetes UK make specific packs for travelling with needles so it may be worth checking their website.

    Hope that helps

Get the letter from the GP but also suggest you get a coolbox to keep it and and put a fridge thermometer in it??? You have time to see if the temp will stay low enough for long enough.

Enjoy your hols - just back from France myself it is hot hot hot

    love

    Hello
My husband and I did a road trip around Europe a few years ago and we bought a mini fridge which plugs into the car lighter socket. I think they're meant for a few cans of drink but just right for injections. We could then plug it in in each hotel room and we could just about squeeze a small milk bottle in too which was handy!

When we've been travelling by plane I take a little mini cool bag with ice packs and a letter to explain it must be carried with me and not put through xray machines etc.
