I thought epidurals were injections into the lower spine to remove sensation from below the waist during ops/childbirth. I don't want to sound doubtful but are you sure you have the right term? I know that people have all kinds of injections into necks etc but that is not a term I have come across with that area of the body. I am intrigued but I do wish you well with it and I hope it helps. DD

(An hour or so later) Right: I have learned from skezier that that is the general term used for this type of treatment, so I sincerely apologise for doubting your use of the term. DD

    Hi DD,

They call them that no matter where they put them. They are also the never blocks etc that are used for the ops cus they all go into the spine. xx

    Hi Marl,

I have had a few into the neck, thoracic and the lumber.

AS re they doing the epidural nerve blocks on you? Those can be quite effective if they get the right place./ Mine often get done with out the use of sedative so she knows its the right place... I weep

They might mean the ordinary faucet joint jabs? Those are sometimes very effective and sometimes not so much.

I used to have the epidural nerve blocks done regularly but they got less effective....

mind waiting for the full set of nerve block, facet injection and botox triggers and Marl that got to help

They are ok and they are always effective to some degree and sometimes they are really good.

When do you have yours done? Cris x

I got corrected by my sister who works for NHS...Spinal is what we get when we have our replacement ops, epidural is purely for childbirth purposes!!

Hi thank you all for your replies i havent got my appointment yet for the injection the leaflet they gave me says epidural.Must admit my first thoughts were thats when people give birth. I read the booklet and checked on the internet cervical epidural . The doctor did mention the nerves in my neck because three discs have worn away . Really hope it works .x
