Sad that they have confirmed that the man found shot in a car has now died. Even if he was involved nobody deserves to die like that.0

My daughter has just heard that last night there was an 8 year old girl killed because she wanted to get her cat, and a man now in hospital after being beaten up. What is f**king happening with this country, Bromley has been hit and now Orpington High street in lock down and where we live Tonbridge hight street and Southborough high street are going into lock down.

Hi Coco
It really has frightened my eldest, she was out and about in town when they heard about bromley and rang me straight away, I told her and her friends to go home. They are all frightened and don't understand why these young people are doing this.
Thanks Coco,

Yeah but nobody deserves to have the business or home burnt down either, he could have been just been a local G man or Gangsta as they love to call themseleve's so was targeted, if he was I'm not crying for him, if he wasn't and was innocent then that's different it would be a tradgady but I would imagine he's a local hood and someone was out to settle a score with him.0 -
Just been told it kicked off in Ruislip his morning. we live a few streets from shops

We live in the main part of Tunbridge wells, only one street onto the high street. When people have done shop lifting in the town they normally come running down our road.

The oxygen of publicity is not helping. I have been listening to the radio on and off today and it's all riots, riots, riots. The chattering classes are having a field day and almost revelling in it all.
To anyone on here who is living in or near one of these hotspots, well, words fail me. This is not the majority at work here, it's a mindless minority who respect nothing, no-one, not even themselves. I hope we all can sleep safe in our beds tonight. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
don't think i'm going to sleep easy tonight but equally I must keep it calm for the children. Just wish I could reassure them......

I have called off my trip to London next month due to the violence as we dont know how long this will last.
I do know however that our lot wont riot in Scotland, we just go down south lol (well the Glasgow Rangers fans do)I ♥ Runrig.
I live, sleep, eat and breathe Runrig!!!!!.0 -
Does this rioting prove the old saying “civilisation is only one meal away from anarchy” is really true?, well at least one pair of Nike away!.
Joking apart though it does make me wonder if the root cause here is due to the politically correct left wingers long battle to reduce the Police to social workers and toothless ones at that, well that and a concerted drawn out effort to remove discipline and rules on the young during the New Labour years, these kids have no regard for human life or private property they just don't give 2 s*&$s from what I can see, maybe the pigeons maybe coming home to roost.0 -
My hubby went back home to West Drayton this afternoon. He drove through West Drayton high street where shops had shut and put their shutters up at 3pm on the advice of the met...scary.'grá agus solas'

I Know my girls are really worried, I told them that me and dad will know if anything happens because we can actually see the precinct from our bedroom. Lovely, I dont think. Hopefully we will get a quiet night.

Strange how they can muster 16000 police for the streets of London, usually it's an average of 3000. If it was an average of 8000 per night perhaps things would be different. When did you last see a beat copper that wasn't a CHIMP? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

They're at it tonight in Manchester, where I live. We knew it was only a matter of time - Birmingham last night, then Liverpool, now MCR.
Thankfully, I am several miles from the city centre but to see my city centre being smashed up by idiots is very upsetting indeed. The shops they are looting is very telling....mobile phones, sports clothes etc. It is just an excuse to smash up & steal. Looking at the TV footage, not one of the rioters looks older than 20! All little scallies in tracksuits. Manchester is back on its feet after the IRA bombings & now this....
I just hope the scallies of Oldham (where I work) do not try to copy. We have just marked the 10th anniversary of the Oldham race riots & local leaders remarked on how the town is now a more peaceful & less segregated place. It certainly feels that way to me.
These 2011 riots are not racial. Most of these people don't even know why they are doing it - it is just copycat violence. An excuse to wreck stuff & get a kick.0 -
HI everyone
I do hope you are all safe and sound this morning....its so scary..my son and niece will have to go to there jobs in Manchester this morning..... I am praying it is quiet.....I totally agree with Mel...these are just theives and organised gangs out for what they can get...but to burn down people homes and livelihood.....I will be interested to see what sentence they get....do you remember when arson brought a life sentence....I wonder how many murders and fires it will take to get life these days.Love

Manchester was a scarey place to be last night. Cash Generator had large flat screen tv's being looted by the dozen, and Miss Selfridge is no more..... it has gone up in flames. Hundreds of looters were out in force without a copper in sight initially. After about 2 hours they turned up, too late as usual.
A sad sight, and where wer the police..... they were warned hours before because it started in Salford 3 hours before Manchester, it's a police fiasco if you ask me. Alanthemanc0 -
Sand bags filled, dogs on alert, gun polished and loaded with buck shot so I'm ready for the buggers!, mind you I can't remeber the last time we had a riot in Brightwell Cum Sotwell village but ya never know we have got a village shop down the road!!.0
-
Yes all well and quiet here Karen. Its just that I received a text from a friend ,at 3 ish, telling me a mob were seen heading for the shops at Ruislip Manor. Then the school phoned and said they were sending kids home early from respite club because of the troubles and the traffic was high volume outside my house so putting all 3 together I panicked.
The stories I have been reading have been awful and the police seemed powerless to prevent it.

Apparently the thicko's broke into a ladbrokes betting shop, what were they expecting to find, a bloody horse?
loads of money I'm afraid. My Sis in law was one of the people held up by a gunman in a betting shop, Eastbourne a few weeks back. She works there.
