Saw the consultant on Wed, got a letter on Sat, and today {Tue} had a telephone call from the hospital....they want me in for an MRI.....they can do it on Monday.
Things are moving fast aren't they?
Normally MRI's are for my back or hip but this is for my liver and its a fasting one
Oh well....I'll live
I will ask for pocket duty for next Monday closer to the time please.
Today is an eye appointment at the hospital....just on my way now.
Love
Hileena

Oh Hileena it IS all moving fast as you say! But at least you might get to the bottom of this finally! Good luck with the eye hospital appointment. Any news on the DEXA scan yet?

I'll be there for pocket duty on Monday.

    Thinking of you.

Good luck for monday, I will be in your pocket. Why are you going for eye appointment?. I am having a cataract removed sometime in November and the other one will need doing. Apparently these have been caused by having steroid injections, I didn't know that till after I got one. It would be good if they mentioned it when they give you steroids, they seem to think we're psychic, just 'cos they know about doesn't mean we do. Sorry to rant. Hope it all goes well for you and you get it sorted then at least you can get back to "normal" ha-ha

Sue......Thanks for the pocket duties.....I've had both cataracts done and no problems..Why I was there in the first place was.....having trouble with my eyse watering very badly....looked as if I was crying. By the way...whats normal :lol::lol:

DD...yes I remembered about the bra :lol: the same hospital and the same mobile  I'll be more careful this time.

    Hi,
Thanks for the good wishes......the only thing I'm thinking about is the Dexa scan.....
DD If it doesnt come bak positive you know what will happen??? If I have osteoporosis??? back on that wonderful tablet we both enjoy taking so much :lol::lol:
Oh well.....no point in thinking about either of them yet......I'm pleased the dates are arranged so now.....forget about them Hileena until you get the results.

I still haven't heard about mine yet, I will be chasing that up soon. The only person who doesn't seem to think it important I have one is the second consultant I saw in 2001, yup he who told me I did not have an inflammatory arthritis. I guess that having proved him wrong he is now getting his own back! DD

    Morning Hileena

So glad you can cross "eyes" off your list! Good luck with the DEXA scan tomorrow. Can you still buy those wonderful "I Spy" books? You could have an "I Spy at the Hospital" one, where you can tick off department by department as you go. As for the evil osteoporosis pills - mine are still unopened in the cupboard  cos I can't face them yet (been there, done that, didn't like it, don't want to do it again). My (very valid  ) excuse is that, until I have some proper information about my osteoporosis diagnosis I don't know if they are what I will need to take. (Keep talking Tilly, you are doing a very good job of convincing yourself )

Hope you have a wonderful break when you finally get there!

Sorry...I seem to have caused a bit of confusion.....My MRI Scan is next Mon and the Dexa one is the Thuirsday after that {18th} So wont be asking for pocket duty until Monday.
Tilly....cant say I've ever come across those books...sound fun. As for the osteoporosis tablets....I had a couple prescribed for me...one of them was all right but it was the alendronic acid that was foul.....well i suppose it was OK but you had to take it before any other medication or food....with a glass of water, sit up straight for at least half an hour....Then you could have some medication....since I take my first tablets at 6.30am.....thats going to be a faff!!!! I think thats all it was but especially in the winter....sitting up straight, glass of cold water, no hot drink or food ugghhh and it was osteopenia that I had not osteoporosis!!!!! DD will put me right if I've left anything out :lol::lol::lol: And....yes you are doing a very good job at convincing me and yourself
Toni......the fasting scan.....My appointment is 11.45am and she said fast that day until you have it done. I've never had to fast before but I suppose its because its been MRI on hips or lower back not my liver.
Anyway....I asked her when was the last time I could have anything to eat or drink {cant even have black tea or coffee} and she said well its usually 4 hours before you have the MRI but since you are having it early I wouldnt have anythoing that day.....I jumped on that  I told her I took my first tablets at 6.30 and that was a lot more than 4 hrs so would it be OK to have a cuppa....{knew you would apreciate that  } So she said OK but no more......I think I'll have a 2nd one about 7am and that will be almost 5 hrs beforehand {if I'm taken on time that is  } That'll keep me going until after its done.

Hi Hileena, hope the scan goes well, will be thinking of you. I have had it done, the reason for the fast is so they have an unobstructed view of the liver. If you eat the stomach and gas etc can hide the clear view they need.

'Cross eyes'??? I wasn't aware of your cross-eyed look, Hileena. Poor you! Hey, I hope all goes well tomorrow then you have a great holiday. I guess it'll be a holiday just to be not seeing docs all the time but go for it, girl. A bit of whatever you fancy or, in your case, a lot. If ever anyone's earned it, it's you.
