Hi all,so went to see the guy this morning very positive app, went thru x-rays of feet with me and pointed out problem areas where i have small cysts due to arthritus and the way my bones move he said in-soles would not be enough so i am to get shoes as well so feet dont move about thereby causing a lot of the pain,so was measured and pattern made of feet in something like flower foam that hurt when he pressed them in,next app will be in oct for a fitting and then nov to get shoes,he had a book with different styles i picked some that are like trainers as im always wearing jeans or trousers.
He was cute he could have played with my feet all day.  Mig

Ah, the foot whisperer has come up trumps (albeit delayed trumps). I am glad to hear it went well, mig, and I hope you hear something sooner rather than later. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi mig

Glad your appointment went well and yes it does hurt when they push your feet into the oasis type stuff. I had it done a few years ago, it is so hard for you alone to make the imprint. Unfortunately I hated my shoes and didn't wear them.
Yours sound nice though and I hope you are pleased with them.

    Hi

So glad to hear that your appointment with the podiatrist went well. I've been having foot pain myself since my TKR 18 months ago. I've been wearing a splint at night (dreadful thing to sleep in) for the past 2 months and although it has eased - it is no better.

I'm beginning to think that there must be something else wrong with my foot it is so painful - even my toes hurt.

I'm just interested in knowing where you pain started. I think I'm going to have to go back to the GP and ask for a referral.

It's nice when things go right for a change!!

    Hi mig
I'm sure your new footwear will help. It's a long time to wait!

The specialist offered to give me an injection in the foot but told me it would be jolly painful. I declined his offer. I had one in my shoulder muscle last year and that was bad enough. I'm a coward when it comes to needles. The cortisone jabs do help.

How are you managing now? I spent a small fortune on insoles for my shoes but honestly they don't help at all. Since I've had these knee problems I've noticed that I'm walking differently. I never used to get hardskin on my toes or near the toes - now I am. I think my skeletal frame has been adjusted due to the TKR. I notice if I do too much I get back ache too. Sometimes I wish I didn't have legs!!!!

All the best and let us know how you get on with your shoes.
