Hi.

Had my right ankle tibio talar joint fused in 2008. This did nothing to cure the pain in my ankle. I am now being told I need another fusion on my subtalar joint in the same ankle. Don't know if it is worth it, as arthritis is my second disability (I have CP) and the orginal fusion messed up the CP. I feel life has been a lot tougher since 2008.
Has anyone had multipule fusions on the same part of their body, and/or has anyone else also got CP and arthritis? I would love to hear from you.

Hi debbief. I’ve never actually had bones fused but several of mine, including ankles have fused themselves over the years. There’s nowhere near as much pain in them now but the process was tough going. I hope you can find someone on the forum better able to help you.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Hi Sticky

I was at my ankle consultant a few months ago and he has recommended that I have both my ankles fused in 3 or 4 years time. Until then he want to put me in plaster for six weeks at a a time with a four week break in between until I feel ready for the surgery. This will all begin once I have recovered from my bi-lateral THR. I see your ankles fused by themselves, can you explain to me how this works as my consultant did mention that mine might fuse themselves but I didnt ask how that happens etc. Thanks x
    Big Hugs
