hi and hope all are well
my gp has sent me to another rheumy cause he fells my normal rheumy is not doing all she can to help me. i feel up to know she as been doing her job seeing my 3 monthly and changing meds as needed,
i have been on methotrexate, plaquenil, sulfa and enbrel. the only thing i don't take now is sulfa.
my knee and elbow is still very bad, i have a suspicion that my elbow has another problem but my gp things its to do with the RA, also i know there is water on my knee, a tilt of my knee cap due to the inflammatory and baker cyst.
i do have more bad days that good days and my rheumy nurse said the enbral has brought my bloods down really well but i don't feel my better!!!
the gp also sent me to a new rheumy cause i see mine in april at which time i was put on enbrel and had no follow up appointment til october, is this a long time 6 months?
anyway sorry to rant but i just want to know if anyone else things my gp has done the right thing sending me to other doctor and has anyone else had these problems
thanks davina

Hi Davina,
As you know we not doctors on here but I think personally your doctor has made the right decision if he feels you are not getting the right treatment and can see you are still in pain then you must feel confident about his decision. Remember that they don't do this lightly!
To be honest I am on Enbrel From being first put on it in November I have to see the anti TNF nurse every 12 weeks and have blood tests every couple of weeks. The anti TNF nurse keeps in constant contact with the consultant and I see her every few months unless otherwise needed. I am now back on methotrexate again as well so kore checks.
Hope this helps and you feel better soon. XxAS Sufferer

Hi there!!
good to see you
I think 6 monthly appointments is probably about average, but your GP does know you better and is worried so l would let him/her go ahead with teh referral. two heads are better than one after all.
Sorry things are not sorted for you and really hope this rheumy has some ideas.
That's a point - do you see a rheumy nurse at all?
Love
