Hi, Well what a morning......the letter i had re this appointment was on headed notepaper with a particular hospital name on it. Its attached to the hospital closer to home that I also go to. I had a telephone call before the letter giving me a date and a time and that was all.....then this letter. We headed for the hospital this morning........22 miles away...got there and she said ...Havent got you down here :x She made a few phone calls and discovered it was Hexham general hospital......that is the one its attached to but its only 11 miles away from us and in the opposite direction :x She asked if they could take me if I got back there.....looked at my face.....I had just said I'd had nothing to eat since the previous day and they decided they could take me  ...so off we went again.....45 mins drive. One very hungry patient  So had the MRI, but she couldnt tell me anything except that they would contact me withbthe results and make sure it was on the correct headed notepaper this time.
So nothing to tell except I'm gradually eating,{to make up} and I have to wait now for the reults. I'm very sore with having to lie on my back for so long...doesnt normally affect me {with arthur} it must be this fractured whatever?????
Love
Hileena

Well, that wasn't very impressive was it? I'm glad they did the decent thing in the end but all that driving on an empty stomach....!

I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to tell you anything about the scan, Hileena. They probably acquire some knowledge through doing so many but being qualified to read & interpret them is a different matter.

I don't think it's the lying on your back that produces all the aches and pains - it's doing it on those hard trolleys.

I expect you're now eating for England. I know I would be. Go for it!

    Hi Hileena

Well that was a silly mix up with the letter and I am so glad that they still took you. It would have been a wasted day if they had turned round and said they would need to make you another appointment. I hope you get your results soon, the waiting around is so frustrating. Have a good afternoon and have something yummy to eat to make up this morning xx

Ah, NHS admin rules and with some style. At least you had it done, that is a good thing and yes, I reckon the pain is to do with lying on the hard bed thingy and the fractured pelvis. They are not the ones to tell you what's what - but they could have counted them, yes? DD

Hi Sticky....I think you are right.....they arent allowed to give you any results.
I've rung the GP who has gone home this afternoon and wont be back until Wed morning.....just wanted to see if she needed to chase up the results before I go on Fri morning...The Dexa scan results...well its not until Thurs so they will have to wait  Shes ringing me back on Wed morning.

Jean....when they saw my face I dont think they dared put it off any longer :lol: what with all that travelling and no food from the previous day I would have hit the roof

    oh hileena

how annoying that you drove all that way, but, I am pleased that you got the mri in the end.

Hope you feel better now that you have eaten, you must have been famished.

Got my fingers crossed that your results are quite quick and are ok.

    Take care

Typical NHS cock up then, Hileena.

Well done you for getting it sorted though and thankfully not having to face a further wait.

    Hope results come through quick.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Speedy
Yes typical NHS......at the first hospital she said the letters come from this hospital????? At the other hospital where i was supposed to be and eventually got......she said after the MRI was over Right we'll get in touch with you and make another appointment for a follow up and WE'LL MAKE SURE IT HAS THE RIGHT LETTER HEADING THIS TIME. So letters mustn't always come from the other hospital

    Hi Julie
Yes I feel much better now thanks after having relaxed and had food
I got in touch with the GP {or tried to} she will be in Wed am. to ask her if she needed to chase the results up because i was going away Fri morning.
Anyone reading my recent posts will know how fast she is these days...really good. I dont think she realises I'm going away on Fri. It was left that she will ring when she gets on on Wed morning.
    So we'll see.
    Love
