After reading awful feedback about these work assesments for ESA,my hubby is having his medical today at centre where there is no wheelchair access,no parking facilities and only accessible by public transport.!!! Also i will be hitting the voice record on my phone whilst the "medical proffesional" is assesing  He has just been awarded indefinate DLA so why waste money on a medical which costs god knows how much.....Grrrrrrrrrrr

    Hi Alison

I do hope all goes well for him l really do and totally understand how you feel sacred enough to record the meeting.

ESA is diferent to DLA - DLA can be awarded to people who DO work and often is as it's a work age benefit.

    Love and fingers crossed

Well after a 2 hr wait we went in! Medical comprised of a NURSE going over the form we sent back to Atos, listing all his ailments (took a while  ) and his medication. Was like what you can do not what you cant, then a 5 mins physical test which near on bought him to tears,i can understand the goverment wanting to get the shirkers back to work but putting the genuinley ill through this is awful. One woman who i would say by looking suffers with her nerves looked absolutly petrified  Just the report to wait for now.....hey ho!!

Hi, Don't mention atos to me. GRRRRRRRRR. I have just been for a 'review' after winning a tribunal in Jan. This time they gave me 6 pts for not walking far! Last time Atos gave me 6 pts for sitting, but it seems to have improved!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you get on well with the tribunal. You may find that they are much more sympathetic. The stupid thing is I can't work for the council as they've given me my pension and said that the condition is degenerative, which it is (OA in spine and shoulder and hip........and Fibro) I'd love to get out to work again, I miss all the company and stuff. Its just so frustrating and I hate the paperwork as holding a pen hurts. AAHH

Well!!! we have today had a copy of the full medical and all i can say is its a farce :-/ Says he can walk 200m,he cant walk 20 fgs. Says he can feed his ferrets despite his condition( LOL at that one),i have never read such piffle in my life. Off to the docs next week he goin to do letter supporting appeal. Now he had letter diagnosing him with Respiratory Apnoea!!! Perhaps they could give him a job making beds he could have a nap then . Grrrrrrrrrr

Well my GP just laughed when we told him he had failed,he said assessers are offered a bonus to fail so many to get the figures down, its both demoralising and degrading!!Surely when you are on a knee replacement list its obvious you cant work!!! They have accepted his appeal to look at the descision again, god knows how long that will take. He already has high mobility DLA and applied in Oct to reasses the care level. Its a joke to the genuinly disabled and feel sorry for mental health sufferers who prob dont know which way to turn. Rant over,Happy New Year :-) xx

I have sent Specialists last letter stating Severe OA in both knees and dont know what else to send :-/ x

i think you should send anything anything and everything, i have lost all my appeals now and even the 'super session' that CAB sent off for me after helping me to fill in the last lot of forms... after having the low care componant for a couple of years then upgraded on renewal to mobility and middle rate... then as soon as cameroon gets it and starts changing eveything i now get mobility only... the atos healthcare dr literally wrote the opposite of what i answered.... evil s*d
    good luck xx

Well what more can i say about atos origin except what a pile :x i have had 3 medicals with them (oh i have seronegative arthritis its easier to say where it doesnt affect me) after the first one and failed i was devastated to say the least as so many others i got zero points but not deterred i appealed and won 2nd one i lost again appealed and lost so i had to go to court and sit infront of a judge and doc and explain it all again i was in a rite stait by this point physically and mentally. woo hoo i won i have had my third atos visit and have gained zero points again and i am off to court again in 2 weeks i wish i could publish my consultants report i have just received its amazing to say the least so damming! all i can say is dont ever give up or give in NEVER LET THEM BEAT YOU HOWEVER HARD THEY TRY and good luck hope all goes well!
