In all the excitement of the aftermath of last Friday's long-awaited ortho appointment I completely forgot to tell you that I have my new folding stool for the kitchen. It is suitably drab but very comfortable: its seat is much like mine, broad and curved but, unlike mine, is grey. Its legs are also much like mine, skinny and white. Its four rubber feet are horseshoe-shaped, so that when I settle my delicate bulk upon it they spread and grip. It is, in fact, a shower stool (according to its label) but I care not, it folds and that is precisely what was required. I am pleased.

As we were buying it the lady said that she had just had a call from OT to ask if they could borrow it and that she would have to ring them back and say no. How do I know this hasn't been 'borrowed' before? We also asked if there was a new, boxed one we could have, ie one that hadn't been tried (or lent out). We were told no but no-one even went to look. I am of a mind to pop back in soon and see if another one has appeared. This thing cost £95 but it is purpose-built and should last me my drugs-contracted lifetime. Hurrah! DD

PS It's bl**dy hard to fold!

I am glad that you are now sorted with a seat that is both comfortable and useful. It will make chores in the kitchen once again a bit easier and this one is purpose built so will not let you down.

I did laugh at your description, you make the most boring pieces of equipment sound exciting

    Have a good day

Hello traluvie, it's nice to see you about! Mr DD is, alas, rarely here during the week. He tends to be out for at least fourteen hours a day so it's best I get on with learning/developing my own technique for collapsing (it, not me!) I am pleased with it, it is comfortable and it will make a difference. DD

The most important thing is that it is comfortable and makes a difference..
I am sure soon you will be a whizz kid at opening and closing the stool it will be just like clicking your fingers(well maybe not )
Arthur tests us at times to see how skillfull we really are..i think we surprise ourselves on how adaptful we can be.. 1 nil to us eh :P
