Hello everyone,
Has anyone ever had a wierd sensation in the sole of their foot - it is driving me mad - it feels like there is a mobile phone on silent and vibrating inside my foot - it can't be felt on the out side, it just buzzezs twice then pauses then buzzezs twice again and so on - this has been going on for two days and all last night. It don't hurt just annoys and frustrating cause nothing you do makes it go away. I have had it in the past for ten minutes or so, nothing like this! I just had knee xrayed but came back normal - its all happening down the left side.
I'm going out of my mind! lucky I have rheumy appt monday!

Hi Tracey,
oh thats not nice and I hope no it has stopped for you?
I also get it or sort of electric shocks and twitching in the left foot. Its had a bit of nerve damage done over the years but also they tell me a lot of mine i coming form the back and neck as well.
They are checking it out for you aren't they flowr? If not see them and they might be able to help. Hang in there and I do really hope its stopped cus its not so nice is it? Cris x0 -
Hi Cris,
Thanks for the response - it's still happening-it's been 48hours now. This is a new symptom had it in short bursts on a few occassions but nothing like this.
I have degenerative discs in lumber and cervical spine. Due to ongoing probs over the last few years have bin referred to a Rhuemy appt. is on monday 22nd Aug. I have seen an Orthopedic surgeon who diagnosed Arthritis and discharged me. I have on going issues pain and stiffness in most joints and tiredness like never before, all bloods normal. numb and pins and needles in hands which go completely numb when cold.
Oh well-perhaps I'll get some answers on Monday - I won't bother my GP who i think feels I'm imagining all this. Thanks for listening to this late night rant. I used to be a happy positive young 45 year old-I almost don't recognise me anymore!
This site has been a life saver - I hope you all realise how wonderful you are!
Many thanks

Hi Tracey,
I get this feeling but in my leg, near the hip. I've just put it down to nerve problems-never asked anyone about it. It's a very weird sensation.
Only happens for a minute or so and only every so often.
I hope your rhuemy can help,

Hi Tracey,
Oh flower I so know what you mean..... I have oa and pa and the oa is the one I hate so much... the pa is more recent.... i have no doubt it will earn the same hatred
They are letting you down i think!
I was thrown on palliative care cus basically the whole of my spine ( in fairness the Thrace is kinder holding ) and neck is beyond 'help' so its pain control only know.....
That's improved! I hate the palliative care label and hate hearing it... it reduces me to tars cus its like the end of the road but I still got so much fight left.....
That's it flower the fight will see you through BUT....
They need to do more and maybe the rumo will help. He certainly can rule out a few things for you.....
My oa was just left to rot....12 years they just told me to get on with it.... then i saw a rumo....
He took over the oa cus nobody else was intrested....He sent me to a pain clinic and Tracey i was lucky and struck gold! Dr Weeives is incredible and believe me in the hospital we have to strike gold is quite something
You need a real interested person to help you....
Don;t let them do this to you flower and have you had an ortho opinion as well? It might be possible to help you that way so hang in there cus there is a lot they can do.
The problem is with this disc stuff you have bone hitting bone and you can't get comfortable at all.....
I honestly understand but I also know that the fight inside will get you through it..... honestly it will.
Rambling eh?! Pain control has this side effect
You will be ok and its not long to the rumo..... he can help you even if he decides it is 'purely' oa...
You ask for an ortho opinion, and you ask for better and more effective pain control and maybe a bit of physio could help?
Hang in there flowr and I promise you I so understand what you said about not recognising your self. leaving you a ((( ))) and its nice to meet you by the way Cris xx0 -
Morning tracey
I hope the buzzing sensation has gone this morning, it must feel so uncomfortable (are you sure the mobile isn't in your shoe )
I would mention it to the rhummys on monday and hopefully they will be able to explain what is happening.
Will be ready for pocket duty if needed
Take care

This sounds like a nerve-related problem to me, probably connected to the degenerating discs etc, that would make sense wouldn't it? (but of course I am not a doc!) I think your GP needs to know, see how long it carries on for, keep a record of it for a few days and if it persists then go and see him. I know it feels as though we are off to the docs for every little thing but sometimes we have to be. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi
Like magenta, I also get this sometimes in my hip - i reach for my mobile in my pocket, only to realise I have no pockets!! I've never had it checked out though, I just wrote it off as 'one of those things'.
But as it's persistent, I'd definitely see someone about it
Good luck

Thank you so much! Yes it is still ringing! I'm all in a flap - I've got my ologists in a muddle-I'm wondering if the Rhuemy might be a waste of time-I think my GP did the referral to shut me up. The last thing I need right now is another brush off-there is something weird happening to me. I went to an Ortho he was fantastic spent ages listening and ordered another MRI-I thought I had cracked it-when i went for the results, I waited two hours as he was runing late-I'm not kidding I was in and out in two minutes at the most-no chord compression-you have OA go back to your GP!
May be it's a Neurologist I need to see. There is road works going on out side and they're drilling in time with my vibrating foot! I think I've lost the plot!0 -

Oh dear tj66 I think you should wear some ear muffs. As they say "If you can't beat em join em"
I hope you do get a result at the next appointment, and that you are seeing the right person. I have my fingers crossed for you.
