Appointment tomorrow

Hi everyone
Tomorrow I have a hospital appointment which should hopefully decide what hip surgery I need. I thought that it would be sorted last time I went but the consultant decided he wanted a ct scan to go with the mri. Hopefully there should be no more delays now - I hope not as I can't cope for much longer, I'm sure.
Best wishes, Josie x

Hi everyone
After a long day, this is it in a nutshell (I'll try!) The consultant now has ct and mri scans and there is some arthritis damage at the back of my hip where an xray wouldnt necessarily pick it up and they are pretty sure there is a tear in the cartledge that is allowing my hip to slip. Because he is still queryi-g whether the tendon at tje front is also slipping, he doesnt want to schedule the arthroscopy until hes sure. So Ive to have steroid injections !nd how I react to those will tell him if its the joint or the tendon causing the pain and then he'l decide what to do.
Really dont want injections as still traumatised from having them in my feet, but suppose I'll have to cope! Really thought he'd schedule the arthroscopy today after our discussions last time, but I havent been dismissed and told to get on with it either, so thats good. Sorry, rather a large nutshell!!
Regards,
Josie x0 -
I hope the steroid jabs help, then they will be worth any initial discomfort that they cause, yes? I think he is right to try and track things down/be clear in his own mind before he attempts any surgery - tedious for you but ultimately a good plan. Rest up today, hospital visits always take it out of one. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Josie
Sorry that you didn't get the result you were expecting today and that you are having to have the injections instead. Hopefully this will work and give you some relief from pain while it is healing.
I hope when you go for your next appointment the hip has improved.
