Hi all,
Went to see doc after speaking to some of you on here.
He gave me Naproxin twice a day.
I asked him about seeing a rheumy with OA and apparently I have been referred to him because of the osteoporosis.
I told doc I had an appointment in October and he said this was a long time to wait. It will be 11 weeks.
This is the doc who I have seen for over 30 years but can't see him now as he is hardly ever there, sort of retired but turns up when another doc is on hols as mine is.
So now according to him this is genetic just like my cancer was.
Been asleep this afternoon,so hope I sleep better tonight than last night.
Going for retail theapy with my youngest daughter in the morning. Not a little girl she's 27.
Started keeping a diary now just for this. Have read on here on a few posts and it is a really good idea.
Oh thanks everyone. Isn't it great to talk
Have a good night
May

    Hi May

October does seem a long way but hopefully the naproxen will help until your appointment. I think you did the right thing by having a sleep this afternoon, you were obviously shattered.
Have a lovely day shopping with your daughter tomorrow. I went shoppinng with my daughter last saturday and thoroughly enjoyed myself (I did pay for it that evening though  but it was soooo worth it )

    Hope you sleep well tonight
    Take care

    Hi May
I think retail therapy is a better cure than anything else :lol: I go in on my scooter {the paddymobile} to our shopping mall and toddle around for hours, not having any payback {like I do with some other things} Even if I dont buy anything its enjoyable and relaxing and loads of people to talk to.
Hopefuly the naproxen will help Thats what I'm on.
Glad you got a different view point.
Do you think there is a chance of a cancellation??? Its always worth ringing and asking them {either his secretary or the appts desk} to keep an eye open for a cancellation.
    Love
    Hileena

This is all sounding a liitle better, kellerman. I am glad you have started a diary, it does help to bring it all into focus and stop it being one amorphous mass of info in one's brain! And once the notes are made I find it clears my head of it all and stops the thoughts whizzing round. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

May.. that is good news, at least they are now listening.....I do wish you well with it all, and you are right it really does help having people to talk to that are going through the same
You enjoy your shopping, and buy yourself something nice....I did this last week...just bought a dress....I usually spend my money on my Grandchildren....
    You take care

    Hi May

I am glad you went to see your doctor and I hope things start to improve for you soon. October does seem like ages away, I agree with Hileena on ringing about a cancellation, I do this a lot and to be honest I think I pester them so much they squeeze me in to shut me up. Be persistent, it usually works. Hope you had a great day shopping with your girl, retail therapy always cheers me up. Take care xx

    Hi All,
I thought I had brought you all up to date but my post seems to have diappeared.
    Will try again.
You are so right DD. This started as an odd ache a few months ago, nothing much so put it down to age. Then wham, seemed so sudden, real bad pain, right side from hip downwards. I didn't know what it was but what made it worse was doc was not very helpful. My mind was all over the place.
Coming on here has been a great help. Between you you know a lot.
Really enjoyed my retail theapy. Very tired now but pain not too bad.
Will ring in the morning to tell hospital I will take any cancellation they may have. Excellent idea.
Sure I had more on the other post but too tired to remember.
Hope you all have a good night
    May
