Hi Folks,

Just a quick post to say that SHE DID IT!!! Yes I am very pleased to share the news with you all that Uber cool Ellie has made it and is going to university to become a Primary School teacher with a maths specialism. This is a day that as many of you know I at one point thought we may never see. But meningitis couldn't keep her down and shes got there. So today is a day of many emotions but mainly love for a wonderful girl who will make a wonderful teacher.

    Well done Kate. I'm sure you played a big part in her success.
    My eldest is going back to uni too. She will be studying Japanese and linguistics at Newcastle. Not sure what sort of career this will lead to though! At the end of the day she needs to earn a reasonable wage.

    My daughter has just finished her first year as a teacher and really loves it.. Very very hard work but never a dull moment!

    That's wonderful news, Kate, and congratulations to Ellie. I remember your posts when Ellie had meningitis, and what a very worrying and upsetting time you had. She has done so well to overcome such serious illness and to achieve her ambitions. She is entering a profession which is sometimes difficult and exhausting, but also extremely rewarding, so I wish her good luck.
