Knee pain

Hey guys :)
Can anyone with psoriatic arthritis (or I guess any inflamatory arthritis) give me some advice regarding knee pain please?
About 3 weeks ago both of my knees became painful sort of around the inside edges and under the knee cap. It was unpleasant but bearable and I could walk short distances without too much trouble. Now however my right knee is almost pain free but my left knee is so much worse. Not only do I have the original pain in it but I have a terrible ache in the back of my knee. Im finding it hard to walk or straighten my knee fully.
Im not sure if maybe I have hurt my knee? Or its the arthritis? Because im confused as to why it hurts and aches so much at the back. And also because my other knee is feeling alot better :???:
Does anyone else get pain in the back of their knees? And how do people cope when they are struggling to walk

Mine's RA and I can't really be much help as my knees have been titanium for nearly as long as they were bone. So, take what I say with a large pinch of salt but that back of knee pain just doesn't sound right to me. It sounds more muscular. I hope someone else can help.

I have PA in my knees (and now OA too) but I have never had a pain at the back of them. Get thee to the doc, mehtinks, if it is really that troublesome - or ring your rheumatology helpline at your hospital (if you have one, that is). I wish you well. DD

    Hi Rosy

thing is you have been in pain for a bit and maybe not been straightening the leg properly?? maybe the muscles or other soft tissues are under pressure????

If it's no better l would definitely see if you can get a docs appt for after the weekend.

    LOve

    Hi everybody

Thank you for taking the time to reply. My knee is feeling slightly better now. At least I can walk on it again without wanting to throw a tantrum because of the pain. I have noticed a squishy lump on the back of my knee in addition to the swelling at the front. I googled it and it kept coming up with a bakers cyst. If it gets any worse again by next week (I reckon there is a good chance as I am working all weekend till 9pm on my feet) then I will get it checked by DR. If it stays the same or HOPEFULLY gets better I will just mention it to the rheumy nurse when I see her in 3 weeks.
    Thank you all again

I was thinking Baker's Cyst too but like frog did not want to cause un-necessary panic or alarm. I do think a trip to the doc is required and I hope he can help. DD

ive had one knee replaced and had inner knee pan but with physio we strenthened a little the muscle, i have had a bakers cyst on the back of the other knee, just a year after losing my mum to DVT so everyone was pretty scared, had great treatment from the hospital all was well... this was 14 years, i suffered some back of knee pain this month ad saw my Dr, he said it usually comes from the back... soon went off on that one but was horrendous in the back of the new knee was amost on crutches i couldnt think what i had done but i do get back pain which my Dr said he will get CT scans if it doesnt improve, back always hurts now but back of knee has settled,
are u able to have crutches and just keep the weight off it for a bit???

think my bakers cyst just settled on its own good luck im sure nothing to bad going on.. maybe liten to your body and rest it??
    love and hugs

    Hi Rosy,

Oh flower that don't sound too good....

There are a few things it could be but yep a bakers cyst is one that it might be and please get it checked out and just take it a bit easy till you have done.

Would it help to strap it up do you think? Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. hang in there and I hope they will be able to see and help you Monday.

let us know flower please? Cris x

Hey all, I just want to say thanks again for all your replys :)
I saw the rheumy nurse today and she was almost certain I have a bakers cyst behind one knee, and both knees very swollen. So she gave me a depomedrone :) Heres hoping it works for the maximum time it can.
