Copper Bracelets

Hi All,
Does anyone use a copper bracelet? and, if so do they help at all. I'm thinking of buying one but I have heard mixed reports.
Also, I'm suffering badly from cramp in my legs, any tips? The doc gave me Quinnine but I felt awful when I took them so I stopped. I have heard that Magnesium can help, any thoughts?
btw I have OA in my spine and thumbs.
Thanks
Hev

My FIL wore a copper bracelet but purely for decoration I think as he was riddled from head to toe with some form of arthritis (he would never go to the doc and would not take pain dullers). I reckon they are good for those who like to think they have arthritis - it works, I have no pain! Yup, that's because you ain't arthritic. I festooned myself with magnetic jewellery for a while, that is supposedly good for pain relief but it achieved very little. Everyone is different, though, so if you want to try one do so: you just never know.
As for the cramp, there have been a number of threads about it over the past year, you may need to increase your salt intake for a few days - we are all so wary about the 'health risks' of too much that quite a few of us don't have anywhere near the proper level to help keep things in balance. Potassium is good too - a banana a day might help. Magnesium tablets can be aquired via the GP - I think people have mentione those too. Tonic water is a good source of quinine (not the low-cal version, that is jam- packed with fake sugars and not good for one). You can choose whether to include or omit the gin! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
My grandma once gave me a copper bracelet hoping it would help me.
Unfortunately it didn't make a difference to me but then again I have RA so i may have had the wrong type of arthritis.
I hope if you get one it works for you, it would be good to know if it does.

I have RA and havent had any results with copper bracelets they dont do anything to me. An old lady I used to shop for (when I was 12) swore hers helped her rheumatics.
As for the cramps tonic water helps my hubby so it must be the quinnnine in it and its probably easier to stomach than the tablets. especially if you add some gin eh DDThere are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart...pursue those. --Michael Nolan

Ive never used a copper bracelet, I have my doubts about that kind of pain relief. As for the cramps, I used to get cramp in my legs and found that plenty of fluid (non-alcoholic kind) used to help, just plain water or squash to re-hydrate my muscles. But we're all different and have different remedies0

Hi Hev
Gosh! I remember buying my Mum a copper bracelet when l was a teenager for her oA.
To the best of my knowledge it didnt do much and l even tried it myself with no noticeable difference.
If you can afford it - you could always give it a go? At least it will do no harm.
Love
