Hello,

My heels are really, really sore! Started hurting today whilst walking around my work place. Now both are very sore and feel like they're burning. Anyone else get this?

Thanks,

Magenta xxx

I have Ankylosing Spondilitis and its very common with that and also pain in the back of the heel, feet up heat or cold whichever helps for you, rest and wine if you fancy it. xx

    Thanks,

Hi Val, how are you? Hope you are well? I can't take brufen cos of probs with tummy but I do take an anti-inflammatory. I can't bear ice on my feet but they're so sore I may need to try it.

Hi Traluvie, the shoes I wear are rubbish but I can't afford to go out and buy proper shoes. My feet seem to get bigger too, sometimes I'm a 6 and sometimes a 7-what's that all about

    Hi Ankyspond,

How did you know I'd be drinking wine?

I'll mention it tomorrow at my ortho appointment,

    love Eileen xxx

    HI Magenta

sorry you're having this trouble. Which part of the heel is it that hurts?

I can sympathise, as recently my heels have been very sore - in my case it's at the back of the heel, and my GP has said it is most probably Achilles Tendonitis, and is referring me to Physio, since resting it hasn't helped

I'll let you know how I get on, but I'll also be watching this thread, as it will be interesting to know how many of us have painful feet and heels inparticular.

    hugs

That is exactly what I get but mine is a symptom as AS. X

    Eileen

someone suggested a kind of gel cooling gel from Te*co and on those days it really is bliss.

Main thing would be though to get some soft insoles you are on your feet a lot.

    Love

    Hi,

I get heel pain too - in fact its one of the things I kept going to the GP about before finally being diagnosed with RA. THe rheumatologist said its because the small joints in my feet are affected meaning I don't walk properly. I was sent to occupational therapy and to see a podiatrist. They have supplied me with insoles to straighten me out when I walk and they do seem to be working.

    Hope you feel better soon,

    Jan xx

    Hi again,

It's in the back of my foot, the bit of heel that meets the floor when walking. I also have been getting a sharp shooting pain going up into my left leg. It's another thing to tell my rhuemy, whenever I get the appointment through

    Thanks,

I get this sometimes too. Cushioned shoes are best advice. I recommend the unstructured range at Clarks....pricey but well worth it. There is a sale on at the mo so you might get a bargain - look online too.

    Thanks Sugarbuttie,

I'll have a look. I need something as it's very annoying.
