Hiya,
Been to see my new Rhumy today , of course he has ordered more blood tests , but a new one has appeared on the list , Anti Lipids/lipins ?
Anyone know what this is ? He seemed a bit pre occupied with my Reynauds and was very busy checking my pulse , all a bit strange ???? I am already on statins so is not cholesterol which is what lipids/lipins are but the anti bit has compleatly thrown me , tried googling , too confusing for me just got that it has a rhumatoid connection. Hope you can make sense of this.
Thanks for looking
Joanna

Hi are you sure he isn't checking for antiphospholids? This is an autoimmune disorder that causes clotting problems. Also known as hughes syndrome. Google APS/hughes synbdrome. It occurs with raynauds and is treated with low dose aspirin or warfarin.

Feel free to PM me for further info.

Oooooh tweedie, I don't have a clue. I can only assume it has some relevance to your condtition and let's hope it gives him some answers, yes? Rheumatologists know lots of stuff that we don't so please ask him the next time you see him and let us know his reason - the more we know (without the aid of Messrs Google etc) the better. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi tweedie

Let's hope the answer helps him. I imagine it is to eliminate anything he even slightly suspects?????

When do you get the answer??

    Love

    Hiya,
Thank you for your help , as I saw the Rhumy late friday morning , my blood test has to wait until monday as for some reason the one that is puzzling me has to go to our regional centre , so I will get the nurse to write it down for me , the nurse who was there on friday could not read his writing so went to ask what he had written as she couldn't find it in the test book ! hopefully the regular blood nurse will know .
I will let you all know what it is, You really are a special lot.
    Thank you so very much

    Hi Joanna,

I am sorry I am late but good to see you and hope your ok in your self?

I think Suzy is right and its to do with the raynaud? They got me on some tablets and it might be worth asking cus they do seem to help in the circulation thing quite well.

Fingers crossed they will get your blood done and the results in soon. Ask the nurse taking the blood actually, they normally have a good idea about the tests that have been ordered but I do think Suzy is right.

Hang in there flower and let us know how you get one. Cris xx

    Hi Joanna

I haven't a clue about the blood tests but hope you'll get the answers from rheummy/ nurse soon.

It's good that you've got a new rheummy who wants to be thorough and that has to be encouraging. :!:

let us know how you get on....please.
